29" Reba SL Forks - £130 NOW £100!

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

Just want rid so price is now £100, I'll split the postage costs so £105 deivered via a nice man in a van.

I've decided to change my Carver back to rigid, so have a pair of 29" wheel Reba SL forks for sale. They're set at 80mm at present but I believe they can be adjusted to 100mm. QR axle and 1 1/8 steerer. Steerer is 175mm.

What's good.
Everything works, rebound, lockout, etc.
Both + and - chamber hold air with no leaks.
Seals are fine.

What's not so good.
Odd scratch to lowers.
Tiny mark/scratch on one upper leg ... I think it's just below maximum travel.

Good all round, lightish 29er fork with no vices but I miss rigid forks. Looking for £130 delivered, I'll take some pics if anyone's interested.

The steerer's too short for Steves KM, I gave him first shout as he mentioned he was on the look out at the BB 200 ... but thank you :)

Now this is a long story so I'll shorten it, to ... yes I still have them, the steerer is 160mm (ignore what I said up there ^^) and they're now £70 ;)

ooooh.....160mm is a little shorter than would work with the components i already have but.....maybe changing the headset for something requiring less height (maybe a Cane Creek 40 or similar) might mean it could work - hmmm???

i'm just about finished converting my single-speed into a 1x9 (just waiting on the cassette) and these forks would make the 69er idea happen a lot faster than if i were to wait to be able to afford something new.

plus: the reason i started pricing up components is that i've seen that there's a nice bright orange on-one inbred 29er frame soon to be in stock and so i'm wondering about going for it and switching everything over to a full 29er - so much to think about.....

need to do some thinking/calculating and get back to you shortly.....

cheers, gairy.

gairy if you're thinking about sticking them on an inbred 29er you might be in luck, the headtube is only 105mm long, even on the bigger sized frames ;)

stuart,

i'm heading first one way and then another with this whole 29er/69er thing and at the minute am also swinging between front-bounce and fully-rigid and so if you get an offer from someone else then go ahead and sell your forks.

not that you needed my permission of course - you get what i'm saying - don't wait for me as i'm an indecisive bugger and could well think about this for weeks and then end up not taking 'em.

having said all that i hope that (if i do decide that they're the direction i want to go in eventually that) you haven't sold them!

cheers, gairy.
