Fs Rohloff complete set up.

Post by ton »

Fs, my rohloff set up from my salsa forgot. Got the wheel back from keep peddling a couple of weeks ago after a new rim was fitted and hub was serviced.

Hub is 16 month old with 8000 miles on it. Just serviced. New halo vapour 35 rim fitted. Silver spokes black hub and rim.
Rohloff disc fitted. I can also supply the race face crank set and chain ring if needed as I am going 2x on the new build

Looking for £650 for the wheel/ hub/shifter.
Or £675 the whole lot including chainset and a new chain.

Anyone interested I can send you some photos. Via email.

Bit of a bargain there for someone. 27.5 or 29er?

I've never used a Rohloff but it's an itch that needs scratching.

Tony, what is the hub size? I'm thinking of whether it would fit by Brother Cycles Big Bro. Need it to be 29er and fit a non-boost 142mm bolt through rear hub.

Other Rohloff experts on here, please do opine. Does it need an EBB? I've no idea at all but having used a three speed hub on a Brommie, I like the idea. Can we make it work?
I'm just going outside ...

EBB, sliding drop-outs or a sprung chain tensioner. Looks like it could work ok on the Big Bro

Re hub width, probably best asking Keep Pedalling where it came from. My guess is that it's the standard 135mm OEM model with special Fargo dropouts. I have a Van Nicholas Zion Ti Rohloff specific frame which has a Bushnell EBB as standard and makes for a much neater setup than the Rohloff chain tensioner you would need. You would also need a torque arm to stop the hub turning in the dropouts.

it is 135 and the fargo is fitted with the dropouts that pivot back and forward. so a EBB or sliding dropouts would be best.

Surly adapters will take the 10 x 135 up to 12 x 142. Available from Bikemonger https://www.bikemonger.co.uk/surly-12mm ... 2440-p.asp

Would they be compatible with a Rohloff hub?

Yes. I use them on my Rohloff in order to fit it the drop-outs on my Surly ECR.

Should work with any frame that takes 12 x 142 as I understand it.
