WTD: Bars, Brakes, Shifter (flat bar conversion)

Post by samwise »

Hi All,

I'm after a few bits for an easy commuting life. If anyone has any options for the following:

1 - Flat bars, 31.8mm, ideally something with a nice sweep but anything considered.
2 - SRAM Apex 11sp flat bar shifter
3 - Brakes - Some Shimano hydros would be nice for easy bleeding and my existing stock of pads...

Thanks :-bd
Sam

Hi Sam. I have some Manitou Mars I think which you could have for a donation to my mates water-aid charity project. Not sure how much postage would be but can find out for you if interested. Ta...

I have some non-series shimano hydros with brand new pads that have hardly been used. Let me know if they are of interest and I’ll dig them out and think of a price

* 10 speed MTB mechs work with 11 speed road shifters

To make an 11 spd mtb shifter work with force, or rival, you need to fit an mtb cable guide from a mtb mech to get the correct pull ratio. It’s that or buy a sram apex flat bar shifter and use a stock apex, rival, force mech.

I’ve done the opposite 11 speed drop bar levers with eagle mtb mech by fitting an 11 speed road cable guide.

I’ve probably got a mtb cable guide in the garage.

Also got a set of salsa bend flat bars I’ll probably never use.

Name corrected. As above. If you want a Ragley bar instead I also have one of them that's a bit narrower. In grey...
