Wtd - 9 speed shifters/ 165mm cranks

Post by Al »

Building up a bike for one of my kids for Christmas.

Got most things I need, but has anyone got a pair of old 9 speed shifters or some 165mm cranks they’d be willing to move on fairly cheaply?

(I also need a 9speed cassette If you have anything that is not worn enough to work with a new chain!)

No 9spd stuff to offer, but I'm doing the same for my son and it's proved easier to go 10spd than try and source 9spd parts. He's going to be running a Saint thumb shifter FFS!

Pretty sure I've got some good deore shifters kicking around somewhere, of no use to me whatsoever - PM me your address and I'll stick 'em in the post, once I dig them out

Can’t help directly with the cranks, but when I was in the same position, I got some of these (in 155mm): https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/cranks/150- ... mk2-black/

If you have more than one child and are buying for the eldest, they’re good value. They’ve been on two of my son’s bikes and have now moved onto my daughter’s.

Thanks Ian - sjs or spa cycles are my next port of call if no bargains turn up

Cranks sorted now. Thanks everyone.

Just looking for a 113mm square taper bb and a cassette now if anyone has anything.

If the cassette and chain are usable I’d be very interested please.

And maybe the rear derailleur as my spare is pretty worn (if your not after too much money for it - I’m doing this on a serious shoe-string!)

The rear mech is an XT - how much were you hoping for chain, cassette and mech?
