Wanted - flared drop bars

Post by Retiredtester »

Just snapped my otherwise excellent genetic digest bars and, while I'm going to (almost certainly unsuccessfully) look into a warranty claim, just wondered if anyone has any unwanted and unloved flared drops they want to move on? I like the shape of the digests, so probably looking for something similar - woodchippers, venture max etc and the wider the better. Thanks.

Thanks. I saw them, but need something wider for my very non-cyclist shoulders.

No, nothing dramatic, happily. I was just riding a couple of trails after a stretch of the south downs way and felt a bang as the bottom half of the left hand drop came away. The break is a good inch or so below the bottom of the lever clamp, so I don't think it can be down to over enthusiastic clamp tightening. And I've yet to crash it.

Huge shout out to genetic bikes, who have just offered me a pair of replacement bars. Didn't expect that, especially since I bought them (new and unused) from a bike builder in Brighton and not from an authorised dealer. Great to see a company standing by their product :-bd
