FS: Cotic 'Escapade'

Post by gairym »

This absolutely breaks my heart but I'm selling my Escapade

Turns out that I had unknowingly reached maximum spousal tolerance for N+1 and so when I needed to replace my bouncy bike (current one twelve years old and not cutting the mustard with my buddies out here) I was told, via many expletives and with no consideration at all for my fragile feelings, that I needed to raise most of the cash via selling other bikes.

I know right! Totally unacceptable!

So.....up for grabs is my precious Cotic 'Escapade', size L, bright green and in used normally but perfect working order.

Spec is as follows:

- Frame/forks - L / Green
- Wheels: LoveMud 'Gravel' (29"/700c)
- Tyres: WTB 'Nanos' (40mm)
- Drivetrain: XT (1x11) (32:11-42) (new chainring and chain)
- Brakes: TRP 'Spyres' (brand new just before lockdown)
- Bars: Salsa 'Woodchipper' (same new-ness)
-Headset: Hope
- no pedals, a 'something' stem, a seatpost, a bottom bracket and I'll probably throw a Charge 'Spoon' saddle on it when I take off my Brooks.

£850 plus postage - any interest???

As a very happy owner of one of these bikes, I share your pain.

Oh yeah, I forgot the best bit.

This photo is of a different bike with SRAM kit but it's the same setup.....

Best of both worlds :)

It's either 1) a SRAM MTB trigger shifter, mounted next to the stem on some drop bars, or 2) a hitherto unseen angle of the JFK shooting. I'll leave it up to you to guess which...

I don't understand, it's visible to me.

Here's a link to the photo online:

Cheers - got the link working by deleting the webp bit at end.
Is that a special mount or bodged on with longer bolts?

I take offence at the use of the word 'bodge' but yes, I drilled out the mount to change the angle of entry for the bolt and allow it to be mounted on a wider bar.

As a fellow Escapade owner: could you not just trade in the other half?

In all seriousness; they are fantastic bikes, not sure I could part with mine. Who ever buys it will not be sorry.
