I'm after a set of hydro brakes for my Stooge to upgrade the BB5s looking for hope, magura or higher end Shimano. I had some Shimano deores which quickly developed leaking pistons so don't want those again.
What ya got?
All Sorted now.

There was a batch of Deores from about 3 or 4 years ago that had that leaking problem. I took a set back and got newer replacements which have been rock solid.

I have a pair of Shimano SLX from (I reckon they are M665 but would have to check) that worked perfectly but got replaced by some XT ones a few years ago and have sat in my spares box ever since. I expect they would need a bleed, but otherwise ok. Drop me a PM if you're interested.

were they still in warranty when you took them back andy?In Reverse wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 10:31 am There was a batch of Deores from about 3 or 4 years ago that had that leaking problem. I took a set back and got newer replacements which have been rock solid.

Not sure whether it was official warranty but I noticed there was fluid coming out around the pistons after less than a year. Took them into LBS where I bought them and asked them to have a look and they swapped them for the newer ones. Read a few things online at the time saying there was a bit of a spate of it.
