South West Winter Bivi

Post by ZeroDarkBivi »

Anybody fancy a Devon C2C ride from Plymouth on the 13/14 Dec? Probably follow the EWE route, unless somebody knows a better trail. There are return trains from Barnstaple or Taunton, depending how quick progress is made. Obviously Dartmoor can be pretty wild at that time of year, so will need a reasonable weather forecast...

A slim maybe from this end of the stick...all depends on a number of variables. I'd have to ride down from the midlands the night before...so I'd be pretty vacant (more so than normal) for the first few hours until some hot caffeine was sought.

If you don't get it together before Xmas I'd be in for something in the new year.

Living in Torbay, I have thought about this route a few times, but never got around to it yet. Won't be able to make it before Christmas, but earlyish next year maybe?

The general consensus from my MTB buddies is yes, they want to do it, but not that weekend. So, next year it is for me too, when the weather looks promising.

If you are planning anything in the new year ill be up for it. I can also give people lifts from Bath Bristol area if needed.

I'm looking to do a bivi ride up on Dartmoor sometime between Baby Jesus's birthday and NYE if anyone else cares to join us. If not then I'm definitely up for a trans Devon/Dartmoor weekender sometime after the Ford Fiesta.

Sounds good. I could be up for this, depending on dates (and weather).

Had a look at the Dartmoor part of the EWE route at the weekend; great potential, but needs some modification to avoid pointless HAB. The full C2C would benefit from a longer day unless you are a ninja! Of course there is still the Tarka trail, but it's not particularly interesting.

Has anything been arranged? As a newbie (with little kit) I'd be keen to try this out....
