Lake District

Post by didnothingfatal »

I'm planning a raid on the Lake District this November. Anybody fancy a few days out, planned route is 100k with 4500m uphill, taking in Black Sail Pass, Buttermere, Honister Pass, Old Coach Road, Helvellyn and several well known gills.

Can offer ride from North London area :)

All my bivvy credits will be spent by then unfortunately. Years since I rode up there, but had a very enjoyable tour back in the mid-90's.

Weather could be interesting. If you think Wales is wet, you'll love the Lakes in November ;)

Might be up for a day's riding, if not the full bivvy, but keep me posted. Lakes is home territory as well.

Just been up there exploring and chilling out, weather was interesting, Borrowdale was soggy and windy! Thank god for mountaineering tents.

I'll figure out all the route details first stab is looking ok on memory map, but now looking at Google images.

I can send you a gpx of a very interesting 100 km-er that we did as a 1 day race a few years back. It's silly but was quite fun...
