His name's Brian and he's a very naughty boy.

Python joke. Brian (/you) running away from people (/me)... on reflection, I'm not sure what the joke I was trying to make was :???:

I enjoyed it. I'm aiming to get a proper ridden GPX of the full route and will share here, or can email it nearer the time with a pdf of the map etc.
It would be great to get a few groups out over the weekend and I can promise some great riding and equally good 'resupply' locations.
Any questions post here or drop me a DM.

I've finally got my arse into gear/saddle to ride the route and get a proper (ridden) GPX. ~115Km, ~ 3,000m of descent

If anyone wants to ride an extra 50% and still end up with a social evening, that can be arranged.

Details and GPX will be available here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

As per the origins of this thing, it'll be a sociable weekend out. My ride plan is to have a laugh, make sure no-one is left behind, and show off this fine corner of Northern Britain. I'm guessing there may be around a dozen riding, but the more, the merrier.

Tentative timings:
10am - roll out from Keswick Bikes. (NB - the GPX doesn't start there, but from the Swinside Inn. My bad)
2pm - Bassenthwaite village. I know not everyone is alcoholic, but the Sun Inn is a nice spot to chill/warm up and perhaps re-group.
Evening - refuel in Lorton/Loweswater and find somewhere to sleep in the woods around there.
Sunday - back over Honister and round Borrowdale to Keswick for lunchtime.

There are lots of ride options - shorter/longer/gravellier/moregnar etc

There are a few of us locals heading out, but it would help to know who else is coming. Happy to meet up for pre-hydration Friday evening.
No cost. No commitment. I'll ask again on Thursday 17th.

Some pics from GPXing (not do in one ride, as will be obvious......)

Only kidding, they're fine. The route's all season, though drier is better obviously. It's pretty dry at the moment to be fair, but April/May or September probably best, as fewer folk around. Most of the pics I've posted were last week.
I just saw this and rechecked my rota too. Looks like one of the girls recently needed me to swap and cos she's always sound I said whatever, as long as she gets it sorted with the bosses and I need not do owt. Seems like she needed to work my 19th or something as my rota now shows me as being free.

Might try and nab some forks (plus change the angle of my EBB to avoid rocks striks) and pending the missus not having a mini-fit I might just be able to make it :-bd

Watch this space

Very nice of you Jon. Suspension. But I don't think I'd feel comfy borrowing suspension. But thanks though

Oh wow. How much did you get em for Jon and have they any more please. I only don't like borrowing such things as I'd never be able to relax whilst riding for fear of scratching em (even if the owner said they were ok with it  ).

If they still have Reba in stock then I might just take a look (without telling the missus).

Came with a bike I am afraid so no idea if they sell them
Using laufs at the minute and might try them in the Lakes
My rule of borrowing is if I cannot afford to replace it I don't borrow it
