well i managed it...... just.

100 miles over 5 rides spread over the weekend.
i had to have a sleep between each ride on both days. but got there in the end.

not bad for a fat bloke with a ticker only working at 50%................ :-bd

A quick flavour of the weekend, for those who couldn't make it:
Didn't really take any pics before Keswick (was videoing the two noobs I was riding with).
Great refuelling support from Alpkit at Keswick and Ambleside
Image
Bro-in-Law pulled out at Keswick with knackered knee
Image
Along Derwent Water was really warm, and up past Castle Crag even warmer.
Image
Perfect conditions up at Styhead Tarn had a few camping and the pain of the push up forgotten (almost.....). Our choice of alternative descent wasn't a great success.
Massive bar meal in Wasdale Head and I got over familiar with a hoppy blonde, so heading over to Eskdale didn't happen
Yakker scratched the next morning at Burnmoor with a knackered pedal.
Image
The passes required a good effort with 3" tyres and all the luggage, but descents were fun and managed to run a few 'Gumball Rally' lads in hot hatches off the road down Hardknott
Very pleasant cruise back in via Ambleside, Jenkins Crag and the 3 rivers (which was a bonus, as the GPX I had climbed back up to Skeggles Water)
Image
Thanks again Rich, and Stu for the Friday evening suppage.
Be there next year, or be somewhere else less Jenn.

We'll that was class....

Going off the route before hand I wondered if there was too much road but I didn't really notice it as the off road sections were fantastic. I guess you appreciate the time to relax before the next off road section. I'll have to remember this with my own route planning. I get a bit fixated on putting as much off road in as possible.

The main descents were all good, especially the inclusion of the descent off Sty Head. Proper sketchy

Hardknott and Wrynose can get in the sea mind you!

Belated thanks Rich for a superb weekend, I just got back home.
The Saturday was one of the best days riding I've ever had, the Sunday, less so. Let's just say I was getting a bit sweary on the descent into Wasdale.
Loved the vibe of the whole event, meeting a few folks off here and generally talking to more people over the weekend than I've talked to over the last two years.

Great pics shame the 158 missed those views and the cracking weather.
Bravo to you all that rode part or all of the route :-)
Was a good decision in the end to do the big route as the ferry was out for the weekend :-)

Possibly a bit early to ask, but is there a date in mind for next year? We had a very good time this year

#jennride 2023 will be happening on the weekend of the 27th of May 100 glorious miles of trails including High St !!!! Save the date entries open on the 1st of February. Please share and tag as many like minded individuals beer and number board sponsors required.
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.
