(Not) MoorsOneHundred 2022 June 3-5th

Post by Growler »

EDIT: Just to let you know there will be a scaled back M100 this year in early June

Last years event was a headache from start to finish so this year its going back to its roots and will be much more low key. I'm hoping to get the numbers back down to 35-40 max and as such there will be no social media or website.

Route planning starts this month and will be around 80% new heading out towards the coast and using the Eastern side of the Moors. Camping will also be more low key but there will be beer and food at halfway and probably a DJ.

It will be invite only this time, however that invite is extended to all Boners who are interested, old and new.

I'm quite excited again after what was a difficult 18 moths putting the last one together. Expect some really good quality trails and pubs along the way, and i would say this one will deffo be more suited to mountain bikes rather than gravel bikes.

Thats all i'm going to say for now. More details to follow over the next few weeks.

Hope you are all well and Happy New Year to you all

Si

Count me in please. As much as I enjoyed last year’s event, I preferred it when it was smaller and more low key. Also excited by a new route towards the coast!

Great stuff! Will be all the better for being low-key. End of May is free right now, so hopefully I'll be able to make it having been double booked for the actual event last year, but thoroughly enjoyed the Not-The-Moors-100 (75).

I'm sure Reg will approve of the non-round distance too

I'd love to ride around that area again, I thoroughly enjoyed last years route. I've only got a gravel bike though, just how unfriendly are we talking here...?

@growler - do you know yet which weekend it will be in late May. Only ask as Jennride is 28-29th and some folk will be wondering whether to enter tomorrow.
Doesn't matter to me, as I'll only get to do one and I've still never managed to get to M100 (87.4 or whatever). :-bd

I was wondering the same, having missed a previous Moors 100 because I was already committed to Jennride (or was that one of the ones that didn't happen? So much stuff got cancelled/postponed I've lost track, and the last two years has been a bit of a blur as it is).

I suspect there'll be quite a few people who would like to do both. But if you want to keep numbers down, having it on the same weekend might work!

We are going to avoid a clash this year with JennRide and Tuscany Trail so will be sorting out the date this weekend hopefully. :-bd

Most of the route you will be OK but there are a few sections where you will be cussing

Like that descent off the Cleveland Way with the climb right back up the other side after crossing the B1257...?
Or the descent off the moor towards Low Mill...?
😂

I'm keen to go, I've always had other things on the previous years. I have zero other things planned for this year so it's in prime position.

I'd like a go at this as I've never made it to the NY moors on a bike. Can stay at my folks before had too.
