Not sure why you think it's close to the road. I suppose as the crow flies it's not 'that' far but as the bikepacker pushes, it's much, much further.

It's close to the road one way, I wasn't inferring that you'd take us the easy way, I've known you long enough.

I was considering taking my frying pan and making everyone some breakfast as a special treat, I suppose that's one less bacon butty now then

I was also contemplating options for safely carrying bacon and eggs....

O btw Stu, Hermione is asking if Ruby would like one of those toy pheasants? She's seen some nice ones for sale and is hoping to get one for Christmas...Let me know and I could bring one with me at the weekend for her....

Very kind. I'm sure she'd love one as her favourite rubber chicken isn't long for this world :-bd

Okay then, I promised a 'plan' and here it is in all its scant detail.

Meet at the carpark at SN 901616 (it's at the side of the Afon Claerwen about 3km downstream of the reservoir dam) around noon - although if tradition is any indicator, don't expect to be off and away at noon

Don't expect to be covering monster miles.
Don't bank on visiting a cafe or pub.
Don't expect to keep your feet dry.
Hope for a roof but be prepared not to have one.
Do expect it to be raining and windy.

Can anyone who still thinks that sounds like a good idea, please just say 'yay' or similar, so there's less excuse for setting off without anyone.

That's a comprehensive set of 'lack of expectations'. Perfect recipe for a caper in fact  .

Look forward to hearing about, er, well, nothing happening then :-bd .

Few people know that Dickens actually wrote a novel called Minor Expectations. He didn't think it would appeal to a wide enough audience so was forced to change the title and indeed the content.

Luckily, in Here we have little care for 'wider audiences'.
