Balls. Didn't bring any. Any shops in Staveley that would have some?

Wheelbase? Don't get anything except Smidge. It's pretty breezy though, so probably not an issue.

Thanks. So I've found the first of the things I've forgotten, and it's important...

Anyone have a method of attaching a cheapy Cree torch to a helmet that they can bring for me to borrow? I usually use a rubber mount with velcro straps but it's currently a few hundred miles away from me. I'm not planning on doing a lot of night riding, but I'd rather be safe!

Yep, a bit midgy last Sunday evening, when the wind decided to stop and became food for them.

Late to the party and discussion....

I am finally about to toe the line, had numerous entries but never got this far, mostly due to ill health, so super excited.

Given dodgy health I am planning on doing a shorter ride, slowish, but with cake and some local knowledge. Would love a bit of company. Not sure where I will bivi, but know some nice spots.

Wont be there till Saturday morning, so look out for the slow woman on a black Ogre and say hi!

Cheers

Cheers Ben, I've sorted it now though.

If anyone has a cadence magnet or small neodymium magnet I'd be most appreciative though. Smashed mine off somewhere today and I suck at getting my gearing right if I can't see my cadence.

Pretty sure I have one lying around Rich. We are getting there fairly early on Sat morning so if you source one before then, not a problem.

Hi Rich, first time posting on here after noticing it mentioned on singletrack. I have just put a magnet in my van, I am leaving from Bristol hopefully before 10 tomorrow so should get there in the afternoon. I will be in a silver Vito

Sarah,
you are more than welcome to join the crock pots at the back.

I woke up this morning unable to walk
Image

After twisting my ankle on Monday the pain kicked in at 1am this morning.
I rode around the block before loading the bike in the campervan and I was OK.
Hopefully it will be more useful on Saturday morning.
Jeff is joining us around 8.30 for a leisurely 9am ride off
Look for 3 fat bikes (one limping, looking for sympathy) and an old bloke on an MTB.

We've a low level 66 mile version in mind.

We are mostly harmless

And only interested in riding at the slowest's pace, beer, ginger bread, cake, SPAR's and talking rubbish.

I'm booked in for food at Eagle and Child for 6pm. Was originally going to go for a ride in the day but the weather looks sh*te so I can't be bothered.

Will pop over to the shop and grab some beers for the evening.

Hi Sarah,

I'm riding with Mrs hoppy, it's her 1st bikepacking ride so we'll also be slow and running a shorter route. I'm on an overloaded blue Stooge MK4 and Mrs hoppy is on a very lightly loaded trek Roscoe black and pink.

Cheers for the magnet offers. Weather is properly grim here, definitely not riding today as I already got soaked yesterday.

Had a dodgy knee earlier this week so thought I'd head out with the local MTB club on the wednesday evening ride to test that it would be OK for this weekend.

Annoyingly I crashed on a wet, off camber turn (have since changed the tyres to something grippier) and am now sporting cuts/bruises down my right and walking with a slight limp

Will defo be taking it easy this weekend :-bd

PS - if anyone has a spare pair of 12 speed quick links for my SRAM 12 speed chain I will gladly purchase a set from you! I only have 10s here

White and black Scott on a white car in car park. Any of us?

Edit - Anyone have a maps link to that camping field? Not sure where it is.

Edit 2 - Balls, that's a good distance away. Too far to walk and can't drive as have had a drink. Hmm.

Just asked and no reservations at the bar. They're expecting it to be quiet... I told them they're going to be surprised. 😝
