Is the timetable on this extended as per the virtual event itself?

Shaf I have completely lost track of the rules on this but if a stuffed monkey with chocolate eyeballs can enter then so can my one pot meal made lovingly tonight over the twig stove. It's chorizo, beans, mushrooms and peppers, cooked in onion and garlic and finely sliced celery. Salt and pepper, bit of chilli sauce. Once done, crumble in some feta cheese then go inside to eat it because it's -2 here and a tad windy. Back in my hammock now. Night folks.

Did mine this afternoon, picture and details tomorrow. Three courses, bit of a struggle cycling afterwards but at least it was downhill....

 Luckily Ralph isn't easily easily offended.

TBD, your dinner sounds amazing, I'd be chuffed if I'd made that indoors let alone over a twig stove. You might have to post up the recipe.

Edit. Also, I was working at the zoo yesterday so if I'd smuggled out the ingredients I caught have cooked stuffed monkey with chocolate eyeballs as my meal

My highest GR was Pen Y Crug, a local hill just outside town which is actually a rather impressive iron age hill fort with I think three rings, quite well preserved, but you don't really get a real sense of it when you're actually there, so it's worth having a look at an aerial picture https://www.megalithic.co.uk/article.php?sid=4078

I chose this for my second GR of the afternoon, mostly so I could get rid of the substantial weight of my substantial meal sooner rather than later. I got up there about half past three I think (who cares?), and being a glorious sunny day with snow on the hills, it was actually really busy with walkers, golden hour had started and I think folks were up there to watch the sunset.

I wasn't desperately comfortable setting up a full cook out up there, so it was a quick up and over, then I found a brilliant spot in a little hollow on the lesser visited part, even with a stone base so I didn't have to worry about burning anything.

Three courses: Pate with posh black pepper cracker for starter, followed by Mexican rice with sausages, followed by blackcurrant cheese cake.

All hastily prepared and shoved down quickly, at an add time of day, leaving me feeling quite stuffed, but luckily the next bit was downhill then flatish for a bit....

Not the best of photos I realize now, takes in more of the whole scene rather than the food, but if you zoom in you will be able to see the evidence.

Thanks again for the idea, it was a fun thing to do

Highest GR bagged today

Image
Where I met up with Sammy for a socially distanced Brunch just below the cold windswept summit which was over "run" with joggers

Image
My £10 Lidl front harness came in handy carrying my £11 Ali express seat.

Image
Steak, mushrooms and a couple of eggs

Image
Non left for Panda.
I needed it for the ride home straight into the head wind and cold rain that just started as we packed up and went our separate ways

Image
It was very icy on the way there forcing me to walk some bits.
So I came back home through the quieter lanes

And pleased to see panda's still getting out and about. Her and Ralph ought to get to together one day.

I had planned to head up to near the top of the local hill but Cath had been out earlier on a jog and the police were driving around, presumably checking on where people were headed. So we ended up hiding from the wind in the garden :|

So, Time to ...

Image

Water boiling and add pasta

Image

Once that's nearly done, time for the sauce. A decent amount of butter, a clove of chopped garlic, some capers, salt and pepper.

Image

Add double cream. Then a bit of swapping back and forth between the two pans.

Image

Finally drain the pasta and add it to the sauce along with some chopped salmon and you have ...

pâtes au saumon (salmon pasta)

Image

No view today but yesterday it would have been this:

Had a "best endeavours" crack at the Winter Event ... ticked off the two most local GRs, camped in the garden and cooked a (very substantial and a bit too spicy) Tadka Dal on the JetBoil.

Didn't boil up any coffee ... opted for a hip flask filled with Damson Gin.

Loaded my bike, took a photo..... unloaded it then rode out for a couple of hours and visited 1 GR (thanks Verena :-bd ) then back to pop my tarp up. Dinner with the family then out to sleep in -5C. Sunday saw another ride out and another GR.
Thanks to you all for some inspiration !
