So annoyed, I’ve booked tomorrow and Friday off work to do a 60 miler/1night in Purbeck, Dorset. Got everything ready to go, all planned and been monitoring the weather forecast since the weekend which up until today has been steadily improving. Now they announce some serious weather coming in over the next two days with high winds and heavy rain. Part of me thinks, f*ck it, I’ll never be more than an hour ride from the car so if I have to bail I can do. It’s only a 1.5 hr drive home. Part of me thinks cancel my leave and rearrange.
Not after sympathy, just to vent my frustration

Not sure which forecast you’ve been looking at but this weather system has been in the models from a long way out.

BBC app for Wareham

I find you get a really up to the minute forecast if you just type placename weather into Google. You get a little chart and you can then click on Precipitation. Updates more often than the BBC I think.

Re: Bloody typical weather
If it helps, 3 weeks or so ago I bailed after riding for 2 hours despite the bluebird skies and forecasted clear night/morning. Last weekend I went for an overnighter and got as wet as you could in the bath.
So, go if you want to go or stay in if you can't be arsed
