Riding in together sounds good, I have a route but only generated from cycle.travel website so I can easily amend it or if you PM me your address I'll just recalculate it to finish there. I've made a provisional booking for 8 people so plenty of space at dinner if you want to. The list so far of confirmed attendees is

Negotiations have been successful!
Add my name - Luke Holliday - to the list please.
Sean, I’ll pm about route ideas.
Anyone else heading from Clyst Vale/Exeter/similar let me know and we can head out together.
If you are going through hell, keep going.

I am afraid I can only commit to "provisionally" for the winter bivy. at the moment.
Rob Courtney.
I too would be coming from Exeter direction and would like to ride in a sociable group.

Dave Barter
Moff (Tim Gray)
lune ranger (Luke Holliday)
vip special guest - no name yet but is a HT550 and TD veteran
Jurassic pusher (Rob Courtney) - provisional

@dave barter, any suggestion for what time we need to leave the start cafe to ride to Princetown? From that I can work back to what time to set my alarm in the morning to get there in time to eat etc.

I've stupidly looked at the weather forecast  ... but it's a long way off yet so plenty of time to change.

3 hours'ish for that route. I've got a variation without the Type 2 but we're not doing that.

Ooh snow on the forecast!
What route were you thinking Dave? Could be type 2+ if there’s white stuff :-bd

If it snows the Type 2 route might be the better option

Hello fellow SW Bear Boners.

I am no longer able to participate in the Winter Bivvi. I have been looking forward to it, but other life pressures have dictated that I can't fit this is in as well as everything else.

Please accept my sincere apologies. Hope you all have a great time in what is a fantastic part of the country.

It does look that I've somehow managed to arrange 4 days of riding in the rain for me

 As it will be mid-december you can't really take the blame. I don't mind the rain when I take proper waterproofs. When racing I always choose the lightest I have... which are great for carrying but not so much use to wear.

My decent waterproof is in the kit pile ready, along with my hip flask for it's maiden trip

I'm all packed and ready, just need to strap the bags on the bike this evening and then move it into the kitchen, I don't like to have food on the bike when it's in the shed in case the mice try and nibble their way in through my bags, plus Jane loves trying to maneuver around a loaded bike in the kitchen  A quick weigh of the kit and it seems to have come out at an all up weight for the bike of 55lb :o This is a new record but as I'm away for 4 days in December I've got heavier/more kit. I'll be leaving home at 07:00 Friday for 100+ miles of headwind

The guest list now stands at

sean_iow (Sean)
Dave Barter
Moff (Tim Gray)
lune ranger (Luke Holliday)
vip special guest - no name yet but is a HT550 and TD veteran
vip special guest 2 - I've managed to coerce another to attend, hopefully. He'll be riding in from the west.

Reading back through the thread I think the only people not accounted for are Taylor and ZeroDarkBivi? I've left the reservation at the Plume for 8 people so plenty of room if anyone else wants to come along.

Nobody tell Sean that it's going to snow on Dartmoor tomorrow night.

Also has anyone seen my waterproof shorts?
