WRT LHC 110 miler ride

Post by JohnClimber »

Why Lonely Heart Club?

Not everyone has a bike packing riding buddy and over 3 days it’s nice to ride with others.
You can always ride on your own as part of a group if you fancy a bit of quiet time, just keep an eye on the others and tune out and chill out
Not everyone can map read, plot a route or very confident following a line on a GPS screen.
Or you simple what to ride in a group of the great un washed

If any of the above is you, then you are more than welcome to join either the short or long LHC group

This ride is planned to be 125 miles over the 3 days with 13,000ft of ups and downs.
Picking up 12 of the 24 grid refs along the way
Travelling light, with cafes, shops and pubs to re supply from.

If you are unsure on your mileage abilities don't worry as there will be a shorter LHC group ride lead by Stevemorg to be announced on the run in to the event.

Please put your name below if you fancy joining in, if you are on Face Book we have a little group on there, so let me know your Face Book details and I'll sign you up.

See you in early May

was thinking of riding on my own, then realised riding with a group of likeminded nutters is part of the point.

so, be good to join you.
cafe stops sound good; a weekend of tea and cake consumption

I might be up for the 125 LHC ride. Think it was the mention of cafe's that swung it.

Please keep us in the loop.

Hi John
This will be my first WRT and with no riding buddy, this sounds like a very good safe and social option. Can you please also PM me your route info so I can make a call between this and the shorter group. I think 125 miles is probably the decent challenge I wanted.

Thanks

Likewise, no one to ride with, happy to plan and ride a route on my own, but doing so in company so much more fun. Thanks again for all your hard work on this John :-bd Really looking forward to it  Cheers Andy

Hi first timer and a lone rider. I think 125 miles and 13000’ will be beyond me. Is there any details for a shorter alternative?

I'd prefer to ride in a group, however I'll wait to throw my hat in. If the numbers get too high, I'll leave it to the LHC newcomers and sort something else out.

As everyone will have done their route by now..... :geek:

Or you are still wondering where to ride....

I thought it's time to share the LHC 113 miler (with a 125 option) route details here on this thread.

That way you can either join us or avoid us

John, just for info - I believe there is a shop and café at Llandagfan which is on your route on day 3 - it was open on the Monday of last year's WRT day 3
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

If you look closely at that photo you might be able to see someone with "John Climber" written on the back of their jersey...
