Hopefully the effects of the fires on Ilkley won't have a bearing on the event; route should be far enough north to avoid any drifting smoke but it's not an area I'm particularly familiar with.
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

Finished last night, does 00:06 count as night or is that the next morning? At lunch time I thought a finish on Sunday might be possible but I hadn't realised how though the end section was, including a trackless tussock push which probably cost me the Sunday finish.

The heat made it especially tough but at least the going was fast and dry. My bike is cleaner than after my 7 mile comutte if I go the off road way

It's a good route, although all the roads between York and Scarborough were not really singlespeed territory.

I also got to meet some more boners who were all as nice as they always are and good company :-bd

I think my time will be 2 days 16 hrs 6 mins, although we started late so maybe Chris will knock a bit off for us

Edit. Forgot to say chapeau to Alex, mind blowing to finish in that time in the heat, and well done to everyone who's finished and is still pushing on to complete the route :-bd

Well done Sean!
I find the idea of only being stopped for 15 hours slightly unbelievable; I slept pretty much that long after riding only 100 miles!

gpsies it says 9000m - https://m.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=wezrqhwqgmacjfzs

viewranger has 5000m - https://my.viewranger.com/route/details/MjI2MDUwMg==

I suspect gpsies might be the correct one !
i'll raise you, OS says 9500:

The climbing profile doesn`t look right, on the official confirmed track it shows the high point of the route tops out at 609.1M at about 530 KM, always save the best till last!

My eTrex 30 recorded 31892 feet (9720m) for the route. It's got a barometric altimeter but over that length of time the changing weather could have an effect.

I can confirm it is hilly in parts and flat in others  on the singlespeed it would be better if it was hilly the whole way round

As the other singlespeeder that completed, I can confirm that it would have been better to be down hill all the way `round!!

I was thinking uphill but downhill would be better than flat, I'm not used to sitting down that much so was suffering in the rear department :o

Out of interest, what ratio/wheel size did you use? I ran 32/18 with 2.25x29 tyre and it was a pleasure from Scarborough on. I've never ridden in the North York Moors but loved it across there. I'll be adding the Moors 100 to my to do list.

The long flat miles were painful for me too, I would ride like a BMX kid... sprint hard out of the saddle then coast standing up till I had to pedal again!
I had 34/21 gear ratio and a 29 x 2.0 tyre. I was about 23 hrs behind you, must have been due to my lower gearing! As if! You did a stellar ride!

techno mail started from Driffield so his hills are at different distances to ours.

I got 9366m climbing total, and my Garmin usually slightly over-eggs it in changing temperatures. Once we were past the 33% bits in the NYM I thought the climbs in the sceond half were surprisingly pleasant.

My recorded elevation gain

Garmin Fenix 5: 8547m (crashed, so missing a bit of the course, was on a flat'ish section)
Garmin Edge 1000: 9390m
Garmin Montana 610: (will add this later)

Truly amazed how the first rider back was sub-two days. outstanding.

Front sus mountain bike for any future attempt.
Shame to go down the road to Dent
