Dartmoor Bivi Ride - 20/08/2011

Post by slugwash »

We're doing a Dartmoor bivi ride on Saturday 20th to test out Shinythings new MYOG framebag if anyone fancys joining the gang :-) (Me, Shinythings & Si).

It'll be a shortish ride (an hour or so) out to the chosen site (weather will help decide final destination), probably starting from a pub on the moor. I'm quite happy to do it whatever the weather but if it's pissing down then the other two might slither out on the adventure 'cos they are softie lightweights ;)

All welcome :)

That one actually changed into a canoeing bivi before ending up as a beach bivi after I pulled a crucial muscle in my left paddling shoulder (actually paddling wasn't so much the problem but humping Canadian canoes onto roofracks was)....

However, the following weekend we got out on the bikes up near Fernworthy...

The next definite Dartmoor bike bivi is on October 8th...

Probably, Redlake or the Avon Dam. I'm making scrumpy near Totnes that day and probably uncasking last year's brew in the evening  so may be turning up late into the evening.

Your more than welcome to come along to this or any other trips we're doing other the winter. I'll post them up in advance :)

Thanks for the heads up on the STW trip, I've got my pass so I'm all good to go :)

Loving your photos from Soar Mill Cove, looks really beautiful. Going to add that to my list. Been spending some time exploring the Start Point side of the Kingsbridge Estuary this last year, I've gotten quite familiar with the Pig's Nose ;)

Teignhead Farm looks like a nice spot, I thought about that for our last trip but my companions felt a little too exposed being that far from a pub so we ended up at Caroline Farm.
