I can't make the ride but have given a little to help you to your target. Good luck.

Great weekend! Cheers Rich :-bd

Managed to get off early Saturday morning and catch the first ferry across Windermere at 6:50am. Perfect conditions (other than the bracken and brambles), so I could keep moving at a reasonable pace to make it back in time for a shower and meal before the evening festivities :-bd

Great band, beer and crowd! Didn't expect to be involved in a Rage Against the Machine mosh pit

Top drawer :-bd

Great effort John. I'd originally planned for an early ferry and go for a oner, but the old training mantra "listen to your body" meant a 10 am set off with bivi gear.
Warm sun, no wind and the bonus of someone having ridden through before me flattening bracken and blunting brambles made for near perfect conditions
Instead of dropping into Wasdale for the loop around Wastwater, I turned right at the top and pedalled along the ridge in the setting sun, adding a couple of Wainwrights to my 'in a year' effort (I blame @northwind for this digression). Couple of beers and a bivi at the Woolpack in Eskdale then up early for the double push over to Coniston for breakfast. Back to start for lunch.

Looking west from near Illgill Head past Sellafield to the Isle of Man

As only the two of us did it, I guess I was lantern rouge/wooden spoon.

Cheers again Rich - lots of riders out having a hoot around Kentmere on the way back in.

4 riders did this years route but set off from Penrith so they could enjoy the band and just have Gatesgarth to do in the morning :-)
