Bearbonesnorm wrote: Wed Jun 16, 2021 7:46 am Right then, by my reckoning we have the following interested parties:

Me
Mike
Verena
Karl
Burty
Andy (Chicken Legs)
Stu (MAM)
Steve (Big Dummy)
Rich
David (Asposium)
Sean
Mart
Matt C
Andy (reverse)
Jay
Jase (really, who knows)

If those folk can just raise their hand to confirm or deny their presence asap, that'd be lovely :-bd

You can take me off the list. I've just remember got to have some dental work done on the Friday . Half a tooth to get removed what they couldnt get out with the pilers X_X

No bike involved, but I pre tested the chippy in Penclawdd today, not bad at all, and there's an ice cream and bar place across the road....

Can't wait!

I’m really keen to do this, if the group isn’t too big already.

Stu, how hilly is it likely to be, never been to that part of the world. Do I need to fit the 34/20 or will the 32/18 be ok? Or... and I'll say it quietly, bring the Spearfish and have gears :o Which might be a much more social option.

Reasonably flat Sean. Proposed(ish) route shows ascent of 1600m over 90km.

Perhaps I'll just put the 34/20 on to make it easy on my legs, hopefully at a social pace I'll still be able to keep up on the flats.

He'll just have to put up with whatever ratio I've chosen but he rarely does his share of the peddling

Don't worry, it's all in hand. I'll have a word with Mike and send all those who raised their hands an email soonish :-bd

What's an RV? I haven't yet decided which bike, or shelter, or bag etc. to take. The only thing I know I'm bringing is Ralph

It'll be next to the news stand in Swansea station - you'll recognise them by the rolled up newspaper under their right arm. Codeword is "pigeons"

Pardon me, do you have a pigeon?
I use a magpie.
Better still.
Until they go wrong.
Exactly.

I’m afraid I’m out, my parents asked me to look after their lurcher, after the year they have had (Mother in intensive care for six weeks during lockdown) I couldn’t deny them their first weekend away in two years. As a bonus I get to play with a very large Woolf hound lurcher so fun will still be had in the woods :-bd

Unfortunately he’s a very old boy, a gentle trot around the woods is all he can manage now.

Oooh. That sounds very familiar
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.
