Despite many years involved in outdoors ‘sport’ I’ve never shot a proper bow. I imagine it’s something primeval, like some long lost skill which when rediscovered feels, somehow part of our natural being.
I'll reach a few out next time you're up Steve. I've all kinds to go at up to around 100lb which is akin to hanging a medium sized child off your outstretched arm

Have we been hacked by the Ramblers or somebody? I've rubbed my eyes twice but the main page still sez "Welcome To Bear Bones Backpacking". Or maybe the swear filter is running amok? Maybe it's been like that for yonks and my brain has just skim-read it as 'bike' cos that's what it's expecting - like those optical illusion thingies.

Goes off to dig old rucsac out of the loft just to be on the safe side....

It's a very weird day today. There's this mystery, and now Mrs Perrin has just stunned me by telling me she's "willing to consider" wildcamping this summer. I imagine there will be a (large) number of conditions attached  .

 It’s obvious we’ve been hacked, very subversive, I almost didn’t go for a ride today while mind drifted to thoughts of gaiters on even stranger clothing. Cheers Reg, you’ve saved us again. (With the Mine Camp that’s us even) :-bd

Gaiters. You remember that [19]60s telly programme All Gas And Gaiters? I used to like it when I was a kid but didn't really understand what was going on.

Hah! Shirley "Incisive wit and sparkling repartee"? You gimme a conversation and I'll push it to its illogical conclusion and beyond  .

Anyway, That Word is definitely still there. It's all very unsettling, as BDS has said.

The Church of England forerunner to the Catholic "Father Ted", perhaps? :geek:
