So what random present should I treat myself to.

Happy to be off work for the next 16 days but shame it's gonna be in lockdown #2

Aye, happy birthday!

Yes, Happy Birthday Dave. I hope the next 12 months prove better than your last 12 all in all.
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

Happy belated birthday you lot - hope you had great days each!

I had a bit of a sort out in the garage - new shelves built (not quite to Gairy's standard, but using offcuts, so even happier that the pile of "it'll come in handy" wood is finally getting smaller and actually being useful).
A usable workbench has made me really happy!!

Plus a first coat of top colour on my vintage Falcon road bike

Having a nose around the village here as you do, and spotted someone's living room being put to particularly fine use! FIVE of them. Surely even Stu/Dee's or Phil's lounges don't contain that many lovingly cared-for bits of 'furniture'? :-bd

My acorns are sprouting like mad now so time to pot some up. Chose 10 at random, but that still leaves nearly 100 in the bag to do another time! Oh, and having a fascinating time watching the U.S. election, it's better than any soap opera.

Further to Jim's BaM post next door......Un-nerving sculpture.....Hmm. I was riding a bike along the Russian border in Finland, as you do, 1984 if I remember rightly... no, 1983?... and came across a sort of sculpture park in someone's back garden. I love a nice sculpture park, the more un-nerving the better. There used to be a superb one near Watlington in Oxfordshire... where the hell was it... oh yes, Cowleaze Wood... I bet BrownDog knows it. Some massively incongruous installations in that one. Anyway, Finland.. so a few hand gestures and smiles, parked the bike, and I was into the garden. Packed with figures in myriad different poses. Spent an hour there. It was like being in a particularly scary episode of Dr Who. Had a Finnish sauna later... the recommended jump into the freezing lake straight afterwards rather made me forget the traumatic sculptures...

Machine gun tower just across the railway, just next to top right tip of the sign.... I'm on their files to this day....

Ooh, I'm getting into this now.... found the Cowleaze Woods ones... all gone now.. lost Council subsidy.. criminal...

Looking at the pictures again, I'm laughing out loud at stuff I didn't spot the first time round...."I Don't Agree But Never Mind". Really that sign should have immediately been hung on me daughter's bedroom door! (Yeah OK, everyone's daughters bedrooms  )

And I've never spotted her feet under "Floating Dress" before:

Last one... I'll stop now you'll be pleased to know.... Forest of Dean Sculpture Park... absolutely superb.... Peter Sling' and Kev Raggedstone admiring a stunning stained glass window during our BaM last year.....a window into...?? ... a window out of...???? You decide.

Which one? The spooky dress one? Yeah she is pretty ethereal I must admit. Frequently appears through walls when I'm least expecting it. And at the most inconvenient moments.
