I went to 21x21 this week Steve! Watch out fella you're gunna to get dropped! :-P

https://brouter.de/brouter-web

<Load>, <Tracks>, <Your VV .kml file>
Allows you to plot in your missing tiles and from there you can plot a route.
Only an initial play around, but looks promising :-bd
Once you got route done with that you could even load the exported GPX into Strava via the "GPX to Strava route" tool on Strava Labs and then view on Veloviewer in the routes tab if you wanted to double-check.

The biggest potential problem with the method as far as I can see is that the kml only highlights squares within 10 squares of the edge of your cluster, so if wanting to plan a long one then you could run out of range.

Mine goes from Hall Green (Birmingham) at the north edge to Bidford on Avon on the south edge.

A reasonable ride next w/end will see a fair chunk of south Birmingham done, and that might just sneak into 23x23. Then a bit of cheeky riding to collect a couple of squares in the south and it's game on!

Up north I’m into Daventry/ Stratford-on-Avon down south I’m through Woodstock/ Bicester.
I’m approaching some bigger towns, anything above 28x28 and I’ll have Warwick or oxford to deal with.

Having now done the whole of the urban conurbation of Birmingham, the northwest/north/northeast during lockdown, believe me Warwick is going to be easy.

Waves :-bd

I've been sat on 29x29 for a bit now, not many to go to 30x30. I've not found towns to be too bad, Worcester and Redditch both done ok... Cheltenham was bloody dangerous though..... more near misses there than pretty much everywhere else combined!

Wow, that is a bloody impressive max square!

Most of my max square is urban, I live in North London but my square covers a lot of London

My latest project is cycling all the roads in my postcode, which I’ve now done. Planning to try other local ones now. Veloviewer helps with knowing which ones I’ve been on or not

I did a lot of "those" areas on pre-work rides so it was early morning enough.
For me it's Small Heath/Saltley that always looks like the end of the world.

I'm heading out tomorrow to do a 200 and take a big haul of new squares in the south-west of my target square.

About 4 or 5 years since I started on VV, but it's stalled completely over the last 18 months or so. Maybe 3 years riding and collecting squares on and off.

I woke up early this morning and couldn’t get back to sleep so I reached for the iPad and opened my favourite web site, no not pornhub
Phone in one hand with veloviewer open i used ViewRanger to plot a route, synced it with the garmin and quietly slipped out the door. I was on the bike just after 5am and rode a great route around Daventry, some great trails and a new BOAT! I saw Red kites, hares, deer,a kestrel and other assorted wild life. A very enjoyable ride.
Home just after 8, coffee and a plate of scrambled eggs and veggie Chorizo sausages :-bd

Unless they start a land reclaiming scheme around the Isle of Wight I'm going to be stuck on 9x9 for some time

Even when I'm allowed on the ferry again, at £20 a trip it would be an expensive way to gain more squares. Think of me when you get to 10x10

Measly is good. We're on 9x9. I'm collected tiles when I'm out and about with my sons. It's a great way to let them where they have visited in their own country.

Shall we start a little leaderboard? Just as a bit of fun, you can quote and repost if you've changed your scores. Here are some of the ones from this page, just to get us started, I haven't gone back through the thread so there will be loads more to add, I know Kevin/blackhound has a big max square and I think Chew is pretty big too

I looked at the VV leaderboard only yesterday (it is on your VV summary page) and saw that I am in 7th place for 2020 with 18x18. Just ahead of me on 19x19 are Jack Petersen and local rider to me Pete Johnson or PeeJay. Hope to catch them by the weekend although they may have pushed on further. I have added my score to Ben's table
