CX / Gravel Wheelset advice

Post by Firmo »

I recently took advantage of Planet X's deal on the Pickenflick with SRAM Force.

I love the bike. I'm going to stick some flared drop bars on it, but I'm stuck with what wheels to go with (They come with Gipiemme Roccia Equipe wheels).

I've been using tubeless on my MTB all year and want tubeless for this bike too. On my road bike, I have some carbon tubular wheels with Novatec hubs (from Ebay/Taiwan) and they've been great, so I'm thinking of something similar for this too (albeit, disc-compatible).

I was looking at these:

Is there a good reason NOT to opt for these? And are they compatible with SRAM Force 1?

The eBay wheels state through axle but I'm sure the Pickenflick has conventional dropouts that use the old qr system. Depending on the diameter of the axles on the new wheels, you may be able to get a 10mm axle from Superstar. My preference would be for qr Hope hoops with Stans Crest rims.
Edit. Didn't read further down the description, seems they are QR compatible so fine.
