It must be nearly here.

I've just heard my first cuckoo of the year so surely spring must be very nearly here? Was a little odd, listening to it while looking up and seeing the hills are white over

Not heard any yet up here (Skipton area). Mind you the tops had a dusting of snow this morning and there's a strong northerly so that will slow there northward progression.

I did my household chores this morning. Looking at the sun outside.

Went for a ride late afternoon, cloudy then hail. Snow followed. Turning to wet, cold rain as I descended back to the city.

Was great :-bd

We always look out for the first returning swallow. It arrived two days ago.

So yes, it must be nearly here.

Went for a roadie truck around the Peaks yesterday to take advantage of a tailwind down the via Gellia. It was bloody cold all day and I got hailed on four times. Had to sneak a tow off a Uni student up to Owler Bar to stay ahead of the impending rain on the way home. Popped round to mates house afterwards and enjoyed a beer in the warm while he barbecued in a blizzard outside.

Uhm, snow, hail, rain and brilliant sunshine throughout yesterday and then woke up to the hardest frost we've seen all year ... forget spring, I think summer might be here

The Cuckoo comes in April,
Sings it's song in May,
In June it's voice begins to crack,
July it flies away.

It's amazing what crap you remember from school  .
