I used to do quite a few fell races (I thought I was going to be last once until we figured out someone had got lost and ended up in the wrong village and we had to drive round and pick him up from the pub!) which are similarly low key and low cost (many/most are in the £5 - £10 range). Most, if not all, of the organisers aren't in it for the money.

I'm in, but just for the Lite, 2 days away rather than 3 will be easier to justify/explain to the misses when I get home.

Well, after 4 winter events, I thought it was time to see Wales when it's warm and dry...it will be warm and dry won't it?
I do hope so because I've convinced my wife to come along on that basis, so I could be in serious trouble if not :o
Only doing the lite and probably not too many miles, but I'm sure it will still be memorable :grin:

SY19 7BH, as for maps, you won't find out until the start of April but Explorer 215 will always be required.

This may not be a good answer or the one you want but it's the stock answer - it could be as little as 10 miles or as much as 150. There really is no right or wrong. You will only 'fail' if you don't enjoy* yourself.


*I'm talking on the whole, obviously there'll be bits / times when you wonder what on earth you're doing. However, they still generally remain below the type 2 / 3 threshold.
