Okay, so what stuff do you take or have you considered taking that serves more than one purpose? I'll go for -

1/ Waterproof OS map becomes a groundsheet.

2/ Drybag becomes a water bucket.

3/ shoes and camelbak as an extension to a 3/4 length sleeping mat

4/ down jacket for campsite warmth used subsequently to boost the rating of summer bag

I think Stu meant things you can use for different jobs while out in the wild. Unless, you make your meths stoves as you go along and through them away after each use ;)

ok that one was a bit lame

but you could do your bit picking it up as litter and converting it to a useful item

Ah, well you're on to something there - that's what makes the mKettle quite good. Not so much dual use, as not requiring you take something at all that you would with any other stove: fuel

You enjoying playing with the kettle then Ian?

I've just thought ... Buff, the thing must have that many uses, bit of a shame that I can't think of any except, well a Buff ;)

Bivi bag can be used as an inflation bag for your NeoAir

Drybag can double as a pillow

Waterproof jacket can be a small tarp

Leatherman is a multi tool and therefore by definition has loads of uses

Headtorch is also a front light

Bike doubles as a tarp support / ridge / frame

Helmet can be quite a comfy pillow (although not my current one)

Zip lock bags as - Emergency water carriers
- Dry sock protectors from wet shoes
- Mini compression bags
- To eat from

Gaffertape can be for first aid and bike aid

Alcohol hand gel as hand sanitizer and emergency fuel / fire lighting

Helmet straps and Jacket arms can be fashioned into a proper monkey puzzle bike lock

Buff is a teatowel, oven glove, towel, water filter

Sock, foot warmer and pot grabber

Bike, mode of transport and dead weight/anchor when ground is unrideable!
