Rolls like a Race King but sets up tubeless?

I love Race Kings and will happily use them all year round but for love nor money can I get the things (folding version) to set up tubeless, the sidewalls are just too porus and no amount of sealent will stop them leaking.

So, what's out there that will roll nice and fast but set up tubeless?

Tried Nano's, Stu? Fast rolling for sure...running tubeless ok on my 29er. Not sure if it's the tyres themselves or the Mustang rims that make 'em tricky to seat the bead.

I just got a 2.35 Evo, tubeless ready, snakeskin, Racing ralph.

It has silly long name but went tubeless easier than any other tyre I've ever tried. It was on a 35mm rim too. Seems fast (maybe not as fast as a race king.
twas on sale for £23 too

Also, specialized work well for me, generally speaking and tubeless wise, 2.2 fast track, or the silly quick 1.95 renegade (might not be so tough, the renegade though). Cheap too for tubeless. Stay away from the S-Works ones thought, too flimsy

Maxxis ikons or cross marks. Both good. For the bb200 in 2013 I used aspens which were super quick rolling but did puncture...

All go tubeless on crest/arch in various guises although I have stumped up for exo ikons. Fortunately they are spot on!

I did take a close look at young Bens Geax AKA tyres at weekend, much cheapness in steel bead but I'm thinking maybe too heavy at 760g an end?

Oh yeah...Geax...forgot about the Saguro. A lot of 2014 TD riders rolled out on those. I've not tried 'em myself.

I've got one of the TNT versions. Found it impossible to set up tubeless, which is surprising as this version is so named for its Tube / No Tube capability. The normal ones are ok, by all accounts

Specialized Fast trak, Schwalbe Racing Ralphs, on Roval carbon rims no problem tubeless. We did have issues early on last year with tyre damage, but we've been running tubeless for four to five years without issues other than that. We upped the pressure by 2psi which seemed to make the difference.
Using all year in the peak district and we don't suffer from clogging of mud

Have you tried the ProTection version? It has an additional belt within the casing and it's the version Conti recommends for Tubeless.

contis i have found to be very difficult to set up tubeless regardless of protection - though the narrower protections are better than the others. ikon TR for the win...

I used Race Kings tubeless in 2011 TD and another set since.

Although currently running tubes I do have a set of RK's put away I got cheap

Saguaros are brilliant. Fast, light and they work pretty well in mud, where I find the Race King is near-hopeless. Not the toughest but the standard versions seat as easily as most tubeless tyres. I wish they made a slightly tougher 2.4 version.

Crossmarks are very fast rolling. But I usually choose ikons instead. Just a little more bite ifthere is a little bit of wet. No probs on a wtb rim. This winter I am using specilized butcher and purgatory control. While very sure footed in snow, frozen, muddy and loose they are really slow on the flats. They dig in and stick like glue. Chainreaction have decent offers on the maxxis tyres at the moment. But the tougher exo are still pretty pricey.

I had Racing Ralphs last weekend.

Now when it comes to tyres I don't usually care and have been using whatevers cheap when I need some (hence new RRs V cheap at Planet X last week) Been on paper thin Rocket Rons for the past 2 Welsh Rides and found them fine....

but Racing Ralphs here's my review.....

THEY ARE UTTER UTTER!!! RUBBISH IN WET WINTER WALES,
SERIOUSLY COMPLETE AND UTTER DOG SHIP

(will probably turn up to the next event with them still on the bike though, too lazy to swap them)

i had the same problem setting up my kenda nevegals but i pursisted with them and now that all the holes are filled they work fine and i have no issues with them feeling draggy stu. They were a bitch to stop leaking though!

Stuart - They were folding. That year my mate Martin and Mike Hall used RK's in 3 flavours without problems. Mike's front RK had 2 runs at TD.

Evo is slightly heavier. But better for protection.

Lust are lighter than evo. But are more prone to damage than evo. But both have alot more resistance to pinch and cuts than standard tyres. Lust is more like a reinforcement to make it tubeless ready, but in doing so improve protection.
