I've got some pre-production ones, the velcro was far too wide to go over / round my stem so I removed it and just run them with the velcro round the bars. They don't appear to slip or move but my bars are fully taped which might make a difference?

Just bought two and they both fit fine. I used Velcro on each in them in the bars and only one piece of Velcro on the stem and this fits through both cells.

Only got then this week, so yet tested this system whilst loaded. Stem is 70mm long

I run two with just one velcro strap round the stem, works just fine but can be a bit fiddly to thread it through both. After fitting I cut the length of the strap to suite which makes it easier the next time.

Velcro was annoying as it caught on the loops, I cable tie them on, best done when they are full.

Only run with two of them

My stem cell worked well with my old bike, but my knees would hit it if I put it on my large Solaris and stand up to pedal

How many others hit theirs when standing?

Generally brush rather than hit. Might be different on a much steeper slope than I have used them on so far.

Same here, used one this year but not sure if I like the position due to knee/bag overlap. My bike has a short top tube with a 90mm stem. Prefer a larger gas tank where the weight is kept off the steering. Trying to keep bar-mounted stuff to a minimum now. I really wanted to use 2 stem cells on my road bike but for me they're simply in the wrong place when climbing. I expect much depends on how you pedal, positioning etc though, they're a good idea for most.

In two minds about fitting my stem cell for the winter event

I'm running 1x10 on this bike so expect to have to grind a bit more than I did running my 3x9. The thing is it fits my Ti mug perfectly and is really good for eating on the go, might take it and if its annoying me take it off and lob it in my pack

Thanks all.

I think i'll give them a go as its quite a long bike.

Running fleegles there are a few other corners i could try attaching them to.

Hmmm, could I run 4 on my bars with one either side of the stem, then 2 in the back of each bend (on one og bars) I wonder

You probably could but how much stuff do you need to hand? because you could doesn't mean you should

Mainly for my own intrigue tbh, I wouldn't really want that much weight on my bars :-bd

The new stem cells have fancy double sided velcro which makes it easier to use two together. New model also has narrower velcro. My stem is quite short and it is a bit fiddly getting harnesses, lights and bottles on but it's doable. Note: For some reason, I've got the two old ones and Dan has the newer ones?

Stem cells x2 in blue.

Fuel pod x1 in blue.

Plus a book on navigation.

Then I headed over to on one... it all got a bit expensive!

Oooooooooops

Anybody got a gas tank style bag they're really happy with? I've tried a few, each with different problems - if only Wildcat made some, I'm sure they would be perfect, like my front & rear harnesses are...

What issues have you had with them? I've got an Apidura one, it's ok but I can see how the 'round the edge' zip on the current Revelate ones might be more convenient depending on what you're storing in there.

Alpkit (large) was too floppy - completely unstable (even with a bungee used to provide longitudinal tension) and ended up being thrown into my backpack. Topeak was much better until the zip puller detached on the first outing.

The most stable one I've tried was one Bikepack made for me. It's actually designed to stand on its end attached to the seatpost but sometimes I stick it on the TT ... the whole thing seems much more rigid that anything else I've tried.

I've never felt a great need for a TT mounted bag, I generally just put stuff that might live there in my jersey pocket or if I'm carrying 'too much', I fit a Wildcat Lioness.

What kind of weights can go in the stem cells? Might as well ask before finding out the hard way!
