Funny you should say that as the postman has brought me some gridded stretchy fleece, in bright orange as it's the only colour they had. I'm planning to make some long-johns for sleeping in on winter bivis

Bright orange? That's a bit racy! So when you're on your "stealth bivvy" all that people will be able to see from 200 yards away is an orange pair of long-johns hovering in mid-air! That'll spook 'em.

I didn't select orange on purpose, I wanted a lightweight gridded fleece and I could only find orange. I've never made any clothing before so it might all go very badly wrong yet. If it goes well I should have enough left over for a matching hat

I guess I could also change into them at the pub if my riding kit is wet?

A slight edit to my post
Changed the jacket name from C7 to R7
C - Cycling
R - Running
Cycling has a longer back in it
Mine also has the hood which the Cycling ones lack

Maybe that's why it had 40% off, but as I'm only 5'8" and the jacket was an XL the tail on the R7 was perfect today.

I have to say it's an amazing jacket
I rode 48 miles, 45 of them in the rain this morning.
60% on gravel tracks and the rest on tow paths and cycle paths.
The weather was everywhere between heavy rain, to drizzle to high ahead winds, and I was bone dry all ride long with this jacket on, most of the ride I had the hood up under my helmet.
Where I live is a flat as a witches t1t so I was always peddling for the 4 hours of the ride.
Not once did I feel clammy in side the jacket as all I had on was a merino short sleeve top on under it, there was no boil in the bag, no condensation on the inside.... I was amazed by its fantastic performance.

Is it worth £250 to £300 (I paid £156).....
If you have the money then yes it's a super lightweight version of the Columbia Outdry jackets that a lot of us have. Just treat is a little better and don't use a back pack with it and it should last for years.

New carbon poles for the Stealth 1 tent by Bear Bones. Really pleased with how robust they look.

New Revelate Terrapin from Backcountry.scot, just as my beloved old one is winging its way south to Shaff. Only done a living room test so far but looks good and useful improvements over the old one.

Looking forward to fiddling with all these bits next week as I'll be busy all weekend.

Lockdown / WFH is proving expensive - but saving money elsewhere as not buying beer, coffee, cake, pub meals, fuel, shopping etc etc etc. Quits overall I think
