Tim, can you not get it positioned higher? The foam blocks are designed to sit against the bars.

Looks like it's constrained in height by that extra accessory bar below the stem.

I prefer it lower as I'm going to be strapping my tent or tarp/hammock on top. Also, the angle the brake lever are at because of the Kyoto bars puts the cables into the squish zone, which I will sort out when I eventually get around to lengthening them the next time they need a bleed.

Very nice that Ton, on the wish list, just not sure of the weight/feel
Of the steel after my Vagabond, which was disappointing

Edit; I'm pretty sure the 29+ wheel/tyre combo would make up for
It though ? My Vagabond shook me to pieces, lesson learnt, wrong
Tool for the job....

Nice bike Tony. I pulled the trigger on a Big Brother Big Bro last night - XL in orange. I reckon they'd be very similar in ride.weight etc.

Some Hope X2s for a new build on an old frame for £200. Cant afford them, but didnt like the lever feel on the Magura MT6s I was going to use and run hope on other two bikes so it keeps it simple!

I didn't know that lidl did them until just now. I'm now very tempted by it!!

... with some bike train reservation tickets. Well OK, the email man really. Usual route from here to BB-Land. But this time my local station couldn't book the Welsh bits of the journey for some reason. Much as I'd love to get stuck over there for an indefinite period of time, I have things to get back for, so always insist on having a reservation. Rang TfW direct, they answered within 5 seconds, took my request for six separate reservations, said they'd pass it over to "HQ", and within 10 minutes the email arrived. Pretty impressed. Anyway, I'm now sorted for March's BaM - my Golden Jubilee BaM  . Starting at Caersws and returning from Barmouth 2 or 3 days later. No idea of the route, but there's three, no four, locations that I have to visit on the way round.

Wheel bag just arrived from Ali, should reduce the amount of dried mud I keep finding in the car after a trip.

A bit scared to open a parcel from China so might bung it in the freezer for a couple days first.

Wouldn't that potential just preserve the virus rather than kill it? You'd be better off with an alcohol wipe

Postman delivered a Harveys 1:40k British mountain map map of the central Lakes area. So far I quite like the way it looks compared with OS. And more importantly it covers an area that would otherwise need two or more OS maps

I do like the Harvey’s map for the lakes, great on the bike as it can be crumpled into a pocket and abused. As you said, also covers a larger area too.

Still in the OS camp for other areas though, especially for walking or running when I prefer a bit more detail

... XT 9sp long rear mech, after I tried to go for a ride yesterday and the cage pivot was almost seized spontaneously somehow since previous ride. Looks interesting to service. While at it, invested in some more 9sp chains and XT cassette - getting harder now  . My valiant plan to be riding the last 3x9 on the planet is on track.

Replacements for my lost / misplaced exped red drybags (both went missing, no idea how).

Also, a Real Turmat meal... I've wanted to try these for a while. I'm quite impressed at the packaging (they've vacuum pumped out all the air).
