That's a 250ml nalgene bottle for scale. I'm now thinking some kind of syringe would be better for filling, at least for stuff that's not very runny. You can buy kits with food pouches and a device for filling them, for weening children. It was seeing one of these which got me looking for pouches. The kits are quite expensive and the pouches tend to have cartoon giraffes on them etc. which I didn't want, I draw enough attention to myself as it is without appearing to be eating baby food

That looks like a good solution. The muller rice needs to be forced in as it's not very runny so that might be just the thing. I can also advise that the plain muller rice I had out of it earlier tasted just as good as normal. Imagine how good it will taste at 3am, in the rain, stood in a bus shelter, after 19 hours of riding

To a degree the small surface area of the base will make it less efficient - however, it's not a lot smaller than a 400ml mug and ...

If the stove's working properly, there shouldn't be any soot just a bit of discolouring.

I've done it before with a stainless bottle but this is around half the weight, so it seemed a good time to have another go.

Cumulus Lite Line 300 sleeping bag.

Nice quality stitching and construction, room for my size twelves and my shoulders.
Packs small, weighs little enough for my liking and plenty warm enough for the wimpy seasons that I'll be using it.

Quick (but unrepresentative) test, on the sofa, proved satisfactory - and made my wife think that a giant chrysalis had appeared from nowhere.

Quite a bright limeish green. Would have preferred red but none in stock at UOG. Figured a brighter is easier to find in the dark and on the floor!

Good call. I'd go for the green one TBH. I only asked because of the direction the straps obsession thread has gone. Seems it is as important as functionality ... which of course IT BLOODY IS. The aesthetics matter. To me anyway.

Norm, I’ve got one of those Ti bottles. You can heat water before you crash out and use it as a hot water bottle in colder climes. Excellent bit of kit.
