The coat from Alpkit arrived today. I paid £119 but they'd left the Sale tag on with a price of £99. Shaf please can you sort this for me ;-)

Thanks, that is the second kind offer I've had but we've decided that this holiday is walking/biking/drinking instead

With a Vesper UL20 quilt. After much procrastinating I went with Chrisps advice and figured something from a UK shop would be better than running the customs gauntlet(have I sold out?). I did like the idea of an Enlightened quilt but by the time you added duty and postage it was going to be a chunk more than the Thermarest one. Got the long version for extra warmth and I'm glad as its long enough to disappear into completely. Only the colour is a bit off.....

Currently siting at desk with it wrapped around me :-bd

...a couple of days ago with a Garmin 530 after my 4 year old Wahoo Elemnt Bolt filled with Lake District precipitation on the Fred Whitton a week and a half ago.

I like the apps thing so far, and the battery life looks a whole lot better. If I can use the DC Rainmaker tips to get my 50k OS mapping .img file on there I'll be very happy indeed and the Dakota may well be relegated to my backup unit.

Quarter turn mount adapter arriving shortly to hopefully save replacing all of my Wahoo mounts.

 Hot off the press just released.
Harvey Pennine 'Bridal' WaY map. North + South. in one map. :-bd 73g :-bd :-bd
previously just southern section . Peak to MTL Loop....(south Pennines) in one Harvey map.
there were guide books but mapping was loads of OS maps or GPS + loads of batteries...
now all in one map. Next years adventure...

and a few romer cards with 25k/30k/40k & 50k scales.
1:40k works well, good enough detail but concise maps.
Harvey's mapping is less cluttered but in cludes more terrain info than OS maps..! :-bd

With an Outdry jacket (finally - third attempt!)
Looks like an over-priced plastic mac but I suppose it won't matter if its lashing down. At least it will get a thorough test a the BB200 :-bd

Oh and some large and very expensive bearings for the motorsickle, time to get the 20T press fired up!

I'm the last Boner not to get one I reckon  . 20% off here at £121: https://www.hardloop.co.uk/product/1621 ... hIQAvD_BwE

Looking at Kev's last week and his charcoal colour with sort of flecks in almost made it look non-pervy.

No photos, but the postie brought a barely used DD Scout hammock for my daughter (from here) yesterday, and an Alpkit underquilt for me (from their spacesaver sale at the weekend). Now just to find a nice enough night to use them

A new XR4 Team for my Occam. This gives me a dilemma; it's the rear that needs replaced but I'd normally run the knobblier tyre out front. Do I swap the current front XR4 to the rear or do I run it with the new one on the rear while waiting for the front to wear down?

I thought the accepted wisdom was to put the newer tyre on the front, as a more worn tyre is more likely to fail, and you're better off having a rear tyre failure than a front.
