A DMR stem from Slackman99 - cheers buddy :-bd

A pair of 24" Sun Singletrack rims off eBay, a rear hub & a pair of Schwalbe Black Jack tyres.

Think you can see where the build might be going now ;)

All I need now is a handful of spokes of the requisite length and I've got everything i need.

Not another tyre size debate I hope

I'm guessing a bike for one of your children?

That's right, Henry has outgrown his Beinn 20. After his performance at the Less is More weekend, I was convinced he needed an upgrade.

A while ago we got given a 24" Gary Fisher bike from a neighbour which had a load of worn bits on it, but the frame was good (it's a pre-caliber 24). So, raiding the spares bin and buying a few other bits (wheels, fork, cranks), he'll soon have a rigid 24" wheeled 1x10 bike with discs.

Toying with the idea of putting a 26" wheel in the front to make it a 46er

A set of Hope F20 pedals in black. I would have liked green to match my bike but since that's the Hope racing colour ...

Hopefully Henry's will look slightly less gate like than that.

Beth would also be breathing a sigh of relief in not having to make a frame bag to fit!

Not visited this thread for a bit. Stu how long have you been using a long bow? Lovely things. Ive got a Bickerstaffe but don't use it much cos I'm a lazy turd who doesn't understand its true beauty ....
My old fella was well into it all. I bought him a custom Bickerstaffe years ago but he was more of a recurve man so it largely went unused. After he died hs gear just sat at my mums. Dee got into it at the start of last year and I brought all my dads stuff down here a few months ago and I've been dabbling since

Oh, look what you did. Gone and made me all nostalgic. Im going to drag my long bow out and twang a few off on Saturday evening and then probably spend Sunday with my hand in a bowl of ice water from the hand shock. The thing kicks like a mule.
I'm just going outside ...

I've got some very serious Bickerstaffe warbow arrows here, I've never shot one (yet) and can only imagine what it must have been like to have 2000 of the things coming overhead. Some are armour piercing and some designed to bring down horses

Have the local farmers been a bit too vocal with their "get orf my land"s? :o

My friend's husband is an archer, it looks kind of fun. He says he can't tractise at home as the arrows go through the fence...

Also reminded me of this image

Not quite today, but on Tuesday a rather nice Cumulus 250 quilt arrived!

Very impressed, though it was a tad warm wrapped up in the living room in it, I'm itching to try it out in the wilds!

And some very light 2.5 layer breathable waterproof fabric. Plus some waterproof zips and some midge netting

Making a sub 200g waterproof fully enclosed bivy with midge-proof-ness built in.

A set of togs.

No wait. Not a set of togs.

Apparently there was no one in. All 150 of us including front desk manned all day must have nipped to the toilet.

Wasn't Yodel was it? I've watched them walk up to my door and put a card through without even knocking before. Guy wasn't impressed when I opened the door when he tried to walk away.
