She doesn't like bikes btw... Ever since Oli (somewhere near Dartmoor) scared her horse whilst DH or riding past... so don't get too cheery/cosy if you see her on a singletrack lane near you...

I had an Osprey Seral turn up yesterday

My montane batpack's zip is wearing out. Bought this one for local rides, particularly group ones. I find I'm not drinking regularly enough on the short rides.

Didn't get a chance to use it last night as I was biviing out so took my rucksack. But seems decent having tried it on

I now have three waist packs to go with my 20+ rucksacks...!

Some new bearing cups - much better than the old ones that looked like they were machined with a knife and fork.

A Ebay order, claiming to be from London, GB, that han a customs sticker  . Just a UK shop front... for a Chinese Co.. yada yada ya.. Thin low adhesion soluable double sided tack tape. it useful stuff, position & stick, sew - job done. no pins clips or faff. (no stickinss to bind up needles brilliant for thin, slippy or waterproof fabrics) . then it disolves in a warm water and disappears - cellulose based.
Last but no least, a Ti mug from Sean IOW. 450ml is a good compact size. bonus has measure ments on side, bonus! Ta very much ly.

Obscure book of the week: The Coal Mines Of Buxton. Should've bought it before I went last week. Just means I'll have to go back soon to explore more thoroughly.

I had a relative who owned coal mines in that neck of the woods.

This husband/ wife conversation a couple of days ago still makes me chuckle:

We're talking about how much we're looking forward to our upcoming holiday (bearing in mind it's been three years since we've had a holiday together as a couple, and even that was just a "romantic" mini break in the Holiday Express next to the M4 in Swindon  ). Mr Z says, "How many bedrooms does this cottage have then?" "Dunno" I say, "I'll have a look". He says "Or do you want to sleep outside?" :o :o Me: " Could I?? Really??? Thanks, that would be brilliant!"

Mind you, the back yard/ garden area looks like this

I don't think he's trying to get rid of me as such, he just enjoys what I enjoy by proxy - can we make him an honorary Boner??

What sophisticated gourmet meal did he treat you to? Scampi in a basket with a bottle of Blue Nun?

Love to have seen his face  . Poor chap, he must be as long-suffering as Mrs Perrin  .

Better ask Stu. There's probably some vile initiation ceremony of some sort for Hon (eh, no, hang on that's "Honourable" isn't it (*) ) members...

(*) well he's, er, bound to be that too of course, ahem  .

Wow, you might have been bequeathed a coal mine and not realised!

Relative: Robert Longsdon? Isaac Wheeldon? George Brassington? Or even the Duke of Devonshire himself?! . Blimey, you might be ninth in line for ownership of Chatsworth as well!

In fact you're already related to the Wrights of Eyam Hall - they've lived there for centuries, and owned many lead mines around Eyam.

After the wittering on here about them a Rab Borealis. Seems rather nice in the "flesh", even a rather pleasant shade of belisha, I mean orange 😉

I’ve also received a Borealis - mine’s blue. And while I was at it I ordered an Endura Shacket, which is a reversible insulated shirt/jacket - hipster check on the shirt side and a lightly quilted shooting jacket look on the other. I think I’ll be sticking with the shirt look but I might need to grow my beard again and up my dangle mug game.

I've had one of those a while now, comfortable bit of kit. Not been worn on the bike but has seen a lot of apres-ride action
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

Yes, I used it on the bike this morning and while planting out borlotti beans this afternoon. I think it’ll see plenty of action

An Arixci shaped tarp from Joe's Shop. Once again, very prompt service from the young yin and I'm looking forward to trying it out very soon!
