Chin up bar for a door frame (strength related, tenuous link I know)

A Travers 'Bat Fastard' frame, some Lauf 'Carbonara' forks and some Hope/Nextie carbon wheels with Bud/Lou tyres.

I'm bastardising other bikes, buying a few sale items and using spare bits to finish the build and can't wait to get out into the wintry mountains for a little bikepacking adventure.

I hope you can imagine the level of excitement here right now!!!!!

Titanium windshield from China.



There's a little magnet catch to clip the ends together and it came with a little strip of velcro to tie it up and a bag

I think I'll have to shorten it a little and make a few more air holes, but for a little over £4 including postage I'm not complaining.

An Alpkit Muon headtorch so I can start getting some offroad running in during the darker months. Not tried it outside yet but a quick indoors test with all the lights off proves it's quite bright. The free Blip rear light is a nice touch too

Klymit static V lite insulated via Massdrop. Tips the scales at exactly 550g without the stuff sack. Feels very comfy on the living room floor!

Not the postie, but been over to Team Valley in Gateshead to visit the new Decathlon that opened last weekend. Picked up an X-Light down jacket which for 30 quid seems very reasonable, and amongst other bits a cheap cycling waterproof jacket to put in my jersey pocket just incase, mainly when on the road bike.

Youngest son bought me a drone for my birthday. It's brilliant fun, and it's got a camera that I need to try out when the rain and wind stops for a bit.

"Titanium windshield from China.". Hi Frog, yeah I got the very same one a few weeks back. Not worked out best way to use it yet with the 22g stove, and got a few so-far-unresolved concerns. It doesn't really free-stand, and if you cough too hard it blows away; not entirely surprising I suppose when it weighs 15g. My normal windbreak weighs 30g, made from a cornflakes packet - crunchy nut to be precise, Morrisons to be even preciser - and some silver foil. It folds up and has a base for the stove to sit on so it's very stable. Maybe I'll suffer the 45g hit and wear the Ti 'break inside the cornflakes packet and see how that works. Other concern is it doesn't seem entirely sensible to ship a slice of Ti across from China. Waste of fuel and will no doubt send the burgeoning(?) UK Ti-windbreak industry into a tailspin the same way our steel industry's gone. In fact I'm feeling doubly-guilty now after buying a couple more bamboo leggings which are quite probably Chinese as well - made in a sweatshop somewhere AND depriving some poor panda of its breakfast. Oh. I came here to cheer myself up so that was a dismal failure!
