That carbon pole as re sparked my interest in them as that's come in lighter than I Stu quoted :0)
Under promise, over deliver

It could be the new carbon spigots plus the fact that pole's fitted with a dome / dome so no aluminium anywhere.

After the bum-bag thread.

Ortlieb Hip-sack 5L in lime (natch)

First impressions?

Good: usual Ortlieb robustness and quality, waterproof, handy removable internal pouch, very adjustable, rear floating pocket is SPOT sized and can be used to squeeze a jacket between pack and pocket (handy if it's wet when you take it off), loop for tail-light, waist belt is very contoured and has breathable mesh.

Bad: that robustness brings weight, adjustability makes it "strappy", waist strap is mahoosively long (obviously built for the, err, larger of frame) - oh and it's not cheap.

Bomber head torch/bike lamp for those fast and fun descents in the dark:

I just received a couple of 'em :-bd

Basically a Lupine Piko for a fracture of it's price.
Don't weigh 200 g each (torch and battery).
This will replace my Led Lenser H7.2 that didn't like the wet so much.

Phd alpine half bag from their bargain box and a down hat from the sale. Half bag is ideal as a sleeping bag for my youngest daughter and will make a great summer Bikepacking bag!

One of Stu's Afterburner stoves and windscreen to replace my aged stove bought of eBay from a bloke called Russ who used to live in Dorset but is probably long gone by now. Honestly, I loved that stove, but I stepped on it last weekend while faffing with kit. The Afterburner is nice little jigger - very light and fuel efficient if my first muck about is anything to go by. Cheers Stu.

Have you used this yet? Whats the runtime like?

It looks great value, but it may be too good to be true. ....

81g not bad for 130cm of carbon. Feels stiff too.... :-)

the shelter for said pole turned up.

Bearpaw Lair, plus a Pyranet for those longer, bug infested nights out.

I don't care how old he is, he'd better not take it on bridleways! I'll get well grumpy.
