I'm rather tickled with that quote for some reason. It's got a certain ring to it .

I always find it fascinating what people chuck hard-earned at and what they don't. Bear in mind I have a 16-yr old motor which I rarely use, a house like the Addams Family's that we've been in for 30 years, my most luxurious holidays are in Powys ditches, and heck I've not even traded in the decades-old spouse (although patently the most likely option there is the reverse one). So I think a PHD can't be begrudged. I might be in a ditch but I don't half sleep well in it .

It's just the standard issue. 900fp, added zip, [very] water resistant, 795g. On reflection it's quite wide for 'standard' so I should have opted for narrow since I'm a beanpole.

The 'superlight'... ah.. not available at the time. It is now though: K series, 1000fp, -9c, 655g(!). Luckily for any prospective purchaser they have 2 kidneys at their disposal so the extremely reasonable £838 won't trouble them at all.

and 'After' . Air certainly squeezed out through eVent base. Only minor niggle is could do with small tag on the bottom to assist extraction. I used to cart the sbag round on the bars (no probs, only 795g) in a 13L to help quicker loft. Loft just as good from a 5 of course and can now get the sbag in my 13L seatpack with everything else that isn't sleep stuff (tarp etc in single 10L bar bag).

Though I didn't wish to squish my 900g bag into a tiny pack size for fear of making it old quickly, this pic of yours had me thinking. So I brought my Exped BS (wonder what that stands for) drybag in from the car... wonder what its been doing in there all that time.



Put it next to Rambo first but then realised you might not know how fierce and big Rambo actually is. So I took another pic with the 15 year olds tea-mug. Question is, is packing a 900g bag like this gonna knacker it quicker or lose warmth when removing it for a cold bivvy!?

I absolutely squash my bags into a tiny drybag when I'm packing them on the basis that it's only for a short while. They are stored in big mesh bags, with lots of room to loft.

I go even further. My bags are all hung completely loose on separate hooks in a special temperature-controlled cabinet which has various sensors and alarms.

I'm joking about the cabinet. But the separate hooks is true.

With a nice pole for the cape as I’m sick of loosing the extender pieces Stu made me , but it’s not just any pole , it collapses into 5 pieces instead of 3 making it nice and tiny for packing

Not sure about the fit. Waist is fine, but could be higher. Length is fine. Thighs are on the svelte side. That's all in a Medium. I suspect the thighs on the Large would be better but then the fit might be baggy on the waist.

Need to have a think...
