Same here, in the snowmageddon ridding up to Bishops castle I was merry giggling away to myself, only option at the moment
I think like last years Ice storm bivvy there is amusement in the sheer silliness of it, and in our very comfortable lives, pitting ourselves against the worst the elements can throw at us reveals the sheer joy of just being.

Of course this could be #gravelwanker knobendery
And we could all be bonkers :???:

... with a book I haven't ordered. Which is nice. "Safe Return Doubtful" by The Royal Explorers Club! I detect the hand of someone close by but I could be wrong  .

Tales like "The Legendary Cross-Country Trek of Hugh Glass", "The Inspiring Self-Sacrifice of Captain Lawrence 'Titus' Oates", and "Across The Andes By Frog". No hang on, that last one was an episode of "Ripping Yarns" of course.

I think the next edition will be coming out soon. Chapter 21 will be "BBB Winter Event 2020 - Safe Return Doubtful".......

"safe return doubtful " was part of an advert (allegedly) posted by Ernest Shackleton for his Antarctic expedition The full text was:
Men wanted for hazardous journey. Low wages, bitter cold, long hours of complete darkness. Safe return doubtful. Honour and recognition in event of success.

Interesting factoid there Bob. Noted that Shackleton didn't elaborate upon the awards available for the alternative scenario to "honour and recognition in event of success". Maybe he thought that might put people off a bit  .

So if this nice book originated from a certain location, I thank the person who lives there most kindly!

Twas of course a reference to the predicament that its namesake was in and definitely not a recommendation  .

And delivered my warranty replacement Raceface Next R cranks, which were themselves a warranty replacement for the Next SL cranks.

So three years and I’m on the third crankset, Raceface don’t appear to have a bad reputation and having used their warranty service twice I have to say it’s great (my cranks were actually 2 months out of warranty) but I can’t help thinking how long will this pair last?

Glad that wasn't written slightly differently, ie: "What is that like? Bud?". Can only imagine Colin's wrath at the (non)comparison  .

I had some seals for my Hope calipers, I've got a sticky piston so thought I'd investigate. I also ordered the tool for the bore cap from the same supplier but that's still to follow

When I got home from work I asked Jane if there was any post today? She said there was just one small packet, she'd left it on the sofa for me... she's now going to call the sofa 'goods in' due to the number of parcels recently

Nice. It was a gift so not something I might have picked.

Not as strong as an Island. Not as mellow as a Speyside. If you like Oban, or maybe Highland Park. it'll be right up your street.

Came in the most enormous box but a deceptively "compact" bike was inside.

First "new" bike (ex-demo) for a longtime
