CamKix Camera Shutter Remote... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07C7YJS9M? ... b_ap_share

Seems to work in my indoor tests but I need to see how the range is outdoors yet.

The camera is 15M away from the shed, you can see the tape on the ground :ugeek:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/69624131@ ... res/P34D02

I was stood maybe another 5M away. I set the phone to self timer so I could get out of the shot and also when it takes a pic in that mode the flash light flashes to count down to the shutter so I could tell from where I was stood that it was working.

Apologies for the link to the photo, I'm now having to use Flickr and I can't work out how to embed from my phone.

I currently have about £1000 worth of body armour scattered around my living room floor.

Plan is to try all of it on, fall to my knees / elbows a bit and then send back the stuff I don't like.

Less than 4 weeks to Whistler!

One of them there gas canister contents transfer valve things. If you see a mushroom cloud over Bedfordshire you'll know I've not read the instructions properly. In fact I won't have read the instructions properly because there aren't any. And I use bio-ethanol anyway. Er.

Lol, my gadget came last week and I successfully filled a small cannister over the weekend. Just put the can to be filled into the freezer for an hour or so,and the one you're emptying into hot water. Then join them up with the one to be filled in the bottom, open the valve and off you go. Mind and weight full/empty so you don't overfill.
Good luck!

Ta for info Pete. I'm reasonably up on physics theory but hadn't applied any brain cells yet to obtaining the necessary pressure differential for it to presumably work. So thank you for saving me the effort :-bd . I think yours must be a bit more sophisticated than my £1.35 jobby because "open the valve" with mine involves just "screwing one side into the 'from' canister and pushing the other side into the 'to' canister" or vice versa. I can see this going horribly wrong anyway which will be highly entertaining.

Used to do something similar when filling nitrous bottles ... except I'd hit the big bottle with an oxy torch for a minute or so rather than trying to stand it in hot water. :-bd

"oxy torch". Hmm, yep worth a try. I'll probably have to be a bit quick with a C100 though - maybe just wave the torch in its general direction for a second or so; or I'd end up with a small pool of aluminium, a slight fleeting smell of butane, and singed eyebrows. After due consideration, I think sticking with my little StuStove and some ethanol is my way forward after all  .

Ah, yeah I got the dual-ended type for using with small Coleman cannisters rather than the aerosol type. I was a tad wary to start with, but added small amounts until I worked out a rough flowrate. Oh and i kept windows open and away from any possible methods of ignition and made darn sure the wife didn't know what I was up to. 😁

Cheers for the offer. It's fine though, it's mostly just because I'm a really strange size, so the small stuff is almost always too tight, but the medium tends to be too loose.

Thankfully my head is rather more normal sized so my full face was relatively easy to source.
