I've had a less-spendy week compared to Ian. Altura Attack Waterproof shorts for me. ;)

Not the postman, but Asda. The festival/camping gear is in-store. Picked up a few random bits because they were there and were very cheap. Basic but good value and serviceable bits:
- £1 plastic, folding 500ml water bottle (ya know, with the carabiner on the side).
- £4 pack of 2ltr, 4ltr and 8ltr dry bags. The thinnish type, with no strap points. Filled up with water and no leaks.
- £5 microfibre towel.
- £2.30 expandable bottle cage. I've modded this to take bags a la Anything Cage (see my separate post.

20 litres of extra carrying capacity ... just right for those mid-trip raids on the Spar. Don't think I'll notice the extra 68g when I'm not using it.

Do they not have carrier bags at the spar ready and waiting?

They're 5p each in Wales now, so in the long run I expect the diddy bag will pay off ;)

If that's the Sea to Summit bag thing, it's about £20 ish and that would be 400 trips to Spar at 5p a bag to break even and you get to save the planet too. I would like to know what you think of the sack, I've been in two minds, it's a bit crisp packety and a bit narrow unlike my old threadbare ticket to the moon mini back pack (90g and 15l).

Nice shinny new brakes thanks to Jameso. Just a bit worried levers will be too short for my Jones bars but looking forward to testing them later in the week :D

Is it just plain or does it have any writing/printing on it?

The ICE thread got me thinking, so just received a new top cap, with my emergency contact number on
Here hoping that's one bit of gear that never gets used

It's all just plain, quite noisey but hoping it will soften up with use

Restlessnative, put your groundsheet through the washing machine a couple of times on a cold wash. That should soften it up somewhat.

I'm not speaking from experience but had had seen it mentioned on someones site selling things made out of it.

Completing my spending spree on cycle clothing lately, the postman brought a pair of Assos shorts and a Howies long sleeve cycling top.
