Some Oookworks gear from Artie appeared today. Looks like the groundsheet may get a run this weekend now Norm's showing off places with a roof.

A 40t expander cog and a 32t oval chainring from Works Components. Good price and the finish looks good. Hopefully get a test ride in at the weekend.

not the post man, but this morning had a new bigger rear sprocket fitted on my brompton, plus a new chain

Found I was using gears 1 and 2 a lot, but 3 much less so. And the hills could be a little easier on 1 when wanting to pootle, and when I have a kid on the bike too

Only ridden it from the shop to work so far though

It's a cool shop (bikefix), they have an vaguely exciting bike in the window - like a scaffolding bike that's about twice the height of a normal bike. Apparently the maker rode it on the Dunwich Dynamo. They also have a couple of gearbox bikes in there, plus all sorts of random things

There's a reason the shot's in B&W - they hadn't invented colour film when Stu took the shot

Postie brought me some very nice and perfectly made custom tarp poles and tarp line in a lovely Cuban fibre bag from our very own Stuart from round these parts.

With a few chilly weekends looming, I finally decided I was justified in splashing out on a down jacket. A small box from Cumulus turned up today, with an Incredilite Endurance inside. The design, cut and quality are all top notch. :-)

What's the sizing like on the Cumulus jackets? Equivalent to PHD/Alpkit?

I'm 6', and a fairly average build.

The only ones I can compare it to are a Rab Microlight Alpine and a Jack Wolfskin (both of which I tried on in a shop this week). All were size large.

I found the Rab a touch baggy around my stomach and hips, enough to potentially let a draught in (otherwise I'd have bought it). The medium was definitely too tight.

The Jack Wolfskin was roomier in general, but didn't leave me feeling like there'd be draughts coming up the bottom. Had there been some control over the hood (it was quite large and floaty) I might have got that.

The Cumulus is snugger round the hips (but not in a bad way). I've got a 34" waist. I think it's a bit shorter than the Rab and the JW too, but that's not a bad thing. It just covers my belt, and is a couple of inches longer at the back than at the front. I just tried my Alpkit Gravitas (also an L) on over the top of it, and they're pretty much the same length.

It's fairly roomy in the shoulders, and the hood is quite big, with a draw cord at the back to take up the slack. It works well, though I don't think the draw cord comes on all the jackets.

There's a sizing chart on the Cumulus web site, and I compared the horizontal measurement across the chest to my old Buffalo top in order to choose the size.

A pair of Trail Boss 2.25's (cheap from PlanetX) for this weekends ride and some gloves after I destroyed my merino's last weekend.

Picked up a new chain for my commuter and another piss bottle

You can never have too many right? My wife seemed particularly pleased that I'd bought another

It's an elite one with a lid for mucky rides, might try it out tonight

Revo from Wriggles of this parish (at least, I figure, there can't be two people with similar surname selling revos from the same part of the country but on different forums at the same time).

It's a lot dinkier than I remember them being! Just waiting for the dynamo hub to make it here then I've got a wheel build to do over Christmas.

It certainly did arrive. Although some goofball ordered the wrong size Possum so that bit of the order has gone back already.

Good returns procedure so far, I liked that.

Couple of not too expensive B&M dynamo lights (Ayc N and cheaper Toplight).
Dynamo cable
Mudguard stays
Some plastic spacers and bolts
(all for the Escapade frame which is going to get much more City use in the new year)

KMC 9 speed chain with that new EPT thing, thought I'd see if it worked to reduce rustiness.
Avenir trailer axle mount bit to put onto the mule trailer my g/f has so I can use it with disc brakes.

Where did you get this? Cant say I recognise the name.
Those mesh pockets look like a much simpler solution to adding feed bags.
