Post by Bearbonesnorm »

I'm awaiting the delivery of a package from the good ol' US of A. I'm slightly excited and with each passing day it doesn't arrive I get more hopefull it'll arrive the next

i'm in the final leg of waiting for a whole bunch of bits of kit.

so far i've received:

- sleeping bag
- bivi bag
- dry bag
- stove
- backpack
- windproof bib-tights
- new (90g) pump
- sealskins waterproof socks

and still waiting for:

- waterproof
- gps
- video camera

and.....i've just ordered (just sent off my template) my wildcat gear framebag!

it's been fun/frustrating but i know i'll be a little sad when i've nothing else to look forward to receiving.

Yes,

Waiting on a down body warmer (although this might already be waiting at the PO for me), and also waiting on a lightweight jacket.

My stuff has already turned up this week.

Msr pocket rocket (have given up on meths after it leaked in my bag) and a Merkur DE safety razor but that's not very outdoorsy!

Got a pair of cycling shoes on their way from CRC. They were in the sale and it was rude not to.

Z-paks bivy arrived in the uk on 24th dec according to USPS tracking..................and then dissapeared.
tracking notice says customs duty due awaiting collection
Never had a notice requesting duty payment, No-one in Post Office can find it and customs are impossible to talk to.
Grrrrr.

You may have done this already, but if you enter the USPS tracking number into the Parcelforce website and tick the "incoming international parcel" box and it should give you a Parcelforce reference and a better chance of tracking it?

Hmm, the parcelforce webpage looks a bit different to how I remember it.
Try entering your reference here: http://www.parcelforce.com/track-trace
It may then give you the option to tick "incoming internation parcel", which used to appear just under the box where you enter the reference, or it may pick it up automatically and give you the PF reference. PF process all incoming USPS mail, and on receipt to the UK they assign their own tracking reference. Parcelforce Worldwide parcel tracking reference numbers are either 9, 13 or 14 characters with no spaces.

Cheers ian found that earlier and sorted it this afternoon, you inspired me to try the USPS tracking code which I had done previously with no success, then noticed the code I had didn't have US at the end, took a guess and bingo.
Found parcel in completely the, wrong county, £15 greased palm fee paid and it's finally on its way.
Result. :D
