That's exactly what I received as well.

It came in a plastic bag that said
"We are sorry that the enclosed item sent from abroad and addressed to you was received damaged by Royal Mail at the point of entry into the UK."

Such a bunch of complete shitesters. The Royal Mail stamp on the letter didn't give it away?

that explains a lot...

came home yesterday and found an empty ripped envelope on my door step

Didn't have a clue what it was as don't normally get handwritten mail and only thought badges went to finishers.

* As an aside I think I will wear mine upside down to identify it as a badge of failure and not a badge of honour
