Bivy/wild camping spots in mid Wales

Post by Jblewi »

Evening all,

Planning a ride down to Brecon from Chester area to visit a mate and looking for tips if anyone can help. The end of day one will see us around Newtown. Anyone have any good suggestions for spots to wild camp around the area?

Many thanks!

Kerry Ridgeway is good, but mind out for the illegal raves!!

Plenty of spots up on the wind farm above town.
I’ve been abart a bit

Kerry wood on the Ridgeway is massive so you should have plenty of options there, the raves tend to be at a weekend and in one spot in the wood (I don't go, but I do live down the road). If you look along the map there are plenty of fc woods along the Ridgeway you can use, it tends to be pretty quiet round there.
