Just lightly modify a chalk bag which you can get from a variety of outdoor retailers and jobs a carrot ;-)

Or you could zip tie an old (clean) vanish powder tub to your stem!
think thats what im going to try for my jolly round cornwall at the end of the month. with some sort of cord to stop the lid disappearing.

This is going to sound like a stupid question, but don't these bags fill up with water, or at least not stop the contents from getting wet? I'm sure some have a drawcord top but I can't see that being all that waterproof.

Another possible option ... they've got a drawstring top, an internal spring loop to keep them open and there's already a loop sewn on the edge. You can't tell in the picture but there is a material collar that forms the lid / top with a drawstring ... all those pegs must be pushing it down

The peg bag idea is a great one. I used to do a bit of climbing so have some spare bags but they are all fluffy inside which will soak up the wet stuff and hold it there until the end of time. Even if dry the life giving jelly babies will all come out with their own fir coats.

I've never used one of these. I am quite bad for not eating consistantly but at the same time I quite like the stops where you faff with a bag to get out the squashed ginsters pasty from the bottom of the bag. I somehow appreciate the scene a bit more. pros and cons.

Got mine yesterday and just had a play. It's pretty cool but a bit of a squash on my bike due to short stem, short headtube and cables. If anyone wants one while it's still new drop me a PM, otherwise I will keep it and try it properly next time out.

I did question the width of the velco straps ... apparently they're meant to be 'cut to fit'. The velcro won't fray after cutting.

I've a slightly modified one adorning my bike ... one strap removed and different shockcord fitted, I found the standard stuff a bit hefty

A few pics ... this is only held in place with 1 strap (the second now removed), it doesn't move about or drop. I'm like the idea of fitting it in front of the bars for those times when there isn't a bar harness fitted.

They are a fair bit bigger than I imagined... well they are bigger than the chalk bag I currently use. Does it move around much or is it quite secure?

Seems pretty secure and stays put. I'm a greedy so and so and bought two. One to put snacks in and the other for camera/phone/spot. Nothing's bounced out yet! I prefer them to the "fuel tank" that I use on my top tube/stem as that flops left/right with the steering.
