Wins points for a) not being named in km to make it sound more impressive (sorry BB200  ) b) still underselling the distance by nearly 20%.

Oh, and the encouraged litter picking I suppose.

And it doesn't use the word "divide"

They do use the 'R' word though
Looks a good route and doesn't use the HT route heading north, for a nice change.
Also goes close to here so I 'spose I should give it ago at some point. I wish you didn't have to sign up to Komoot or Strava to get the route though and looks like you need a mobile signal all the way round to prove your ride (if you are doing the time version that is)

No need for signal, you just send them the evidence of the ride. Does look a decent route too

Oooh, nice and passes pretty close to me in Angus. Might need to find a nice week or so to tour it.

That sounds nice, a good week or so out in Scotland. Don't know trails well enough to comment on route but others sound positive.

Yeah, there's only a few bits I don't know, mostly Aberdeenish, but it might make for a decent tour - maybe using paid accommodation for a change as it goes through so many towns and cities. Could be one for late Autumn depending on river levels through the Gaick.

Some care in timing will be required to get all the Brevet stamps of course.

Anyone fancy having a go at this in September?
Like Colin says. Paid accommodation rather than kipping out.

Noticed it was designed by Andy Cox, better known as doubletrackfanatic over on the ‘gram

The description says under 500 miles, the komoot route says 589 miles - quite the discrepancy.

The FAQ entry at the bottom of the page says "590 miles of stunning Scottish scenery!". Why not just add another 10 miles and call it the Xxx 600... 🤷

Good point.

Had to think about that for a while, got there in the end

I'm sure you're not being entirely serious, but I'd rather not ride some boring extra miles just to get to a round number. Worse still, they could have tacked on 30 extra miles and called it the Tiso 1000 (km).

Totally serious, that would just piss me off if I created that route. Pretty sure they could find another entertaining 10 miles somewhere...

Is it wrong that I thought that would actually have been a good idea?

Nope i also find it weird you would do a long route and not bother to get to a nice round number 600 miles or 1000km i dont really care which
there is also no way i would ride 590 miles and tell everyone i just finished a 500 mile bike ride ...i would be rounding up already

+1 for nice round numbers, or at least as close as possible. I would go and find those miles myself if it came to it

Looks like a really nice route. now if I could just find some time, time and more time...

Refreshingly unpretentious.
Just like its creator.

Need to visit UK again next year anyways.

Well done Andy & Tiso

Clearly I underestimated the feeling for round numbers on here! Where's Reg when you need him? If I'd ridden that route and people asked how far, I'd definitely round to 600 too. If it bothers you, maybe try converting it to furlongs or fathoms or something, it must be a round number in one unit

On the extra miles to round up the number thing - we had a complaint on the Frontier 300 this wee, that it was only 293km. A lone voice…..😄

There's an out and back to the tiso shop in Aberdeen so you could convert that to more of a loop via roads to get closer to 600.

It's about 5 miles from my house to the route so I'd end up doing 600 miles :-bd

I noticed my colleagues Frontier 300 Strava wasn't a nice round 300KM. I tutted in disgust... 🤣
