How long have you gone in the same clothes?

Post by TheBrownDog »

I've done a couple of very long cycle tours in the US, Australia and SEA, and I think the longest I went without a change of stuff was 2 weeks. I'm sure it was my round Aussie trip and hands up there were moments when I could jump in the sea from time to time, though the same clothes came on after. I am very sure I was the stinkiest thing on the planet but I don't remember caring or anyone complaining.

I think 10 days without removing them, so 240 hours or so ... hooray for bamboo tops :-bd

On my first visit to the Karakorum in the mid 1980s we (the members of the team) had a competition to see who could wear their underwear for the longest time. I was last loser at 2 months  The stitching failed and they fell off

I've never gone in my clothes. Well, not since I was in nappies.

6 days on the 1600km Bristol-Glasgow-Bristol Audax. It was pretty grim and I wouldn't fancy going much further without at least rinsing them.

That’s gopping  Anything more than a week and you need two sets of shorts and jerseys. Wear one/ wash one. Are you really saying that an extra t-shirt and shorts is too much weight, bulk or luxury to carry?

5 weeks.
There's kind of a plateau with the smell after about 1 week.
But there's no plateau with the grease (from skin).

Mih, I've been worse when I was a scraggly alpinist in my 20s :)

I've worn the same suit for the last 56 years. No real signs of wear yet albeit it's been sewn up in a few places.

I've been in the same suit the same length of time, a few stitches and a, wipe over and it just a little bit wrinklies or thinner in one or two places
3 cheers for my birthday suit :-bd

A couple of weeks on various long hikes

3 cheers for merino (although fellow train passengers might disagree)
